  • hahaha u havent been to ireland till u see our city driving its dont look out the side window and drive as fast as u canand if u see a roundabout do wat we do drive straight on to it not your problem if some one crashes and dies! :)

  • Thanks for the wonderful reminder of the beauty. One of my fondest memories was after having followed a huge herd of sheep, I became determined to find out why they each had dayglo paints spots on their bums. So I stopped and walked for a while. Fortunately, I happened on a man working a fence. Of course my naivete' was humorous to him. But, the warmth and opportunity to connect with someone on that level was awesome! OMG The traffic circles! Thanks again!

  • @marmeisone I have the exact same story to tell about the dayglo "branding"! My better half also learned the definition of the word "goozer" from the same farmer.....lol.

  • Thanks..loved it! You forgot to add when you pick the blackberries, dont go for that fat ones on the bottom. They were left for a reason.....nettles :-( Also, when they say its bog, its bog. Dont go pressing your foot in to test lol. Sept is not a good time for swimming in the Atlantic. Guiness is good for you......your bowels that is ;-). When your in a camper and a tractor is coming the other way, close your eyes. Its not the cowpats you have to worry 'bout, its the cows closing in on you

  • @GhostBusterTrace Thanks, glad you enjoyed it and Ireland. However, no worries about my picking blackberries.....I spent most of my youth in briar patches! And, yes, my better half spent most of our trips there with her eyes closed....she misses a lot of the scenery so I have to make these vids. LOL

  • Thank you so much for posting this video!!! It reminded me of our visit there. It was not only beautiful beyond words, the people were also so very friendly! My husband and I look forward to going back someday soon.

  • @tinaromanic Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it and especially your trip.....and welcome to Youtube!

  • ...My advice to anyone going to drive in Ireland is, take a *long* vacation, at least 2 weeks. It looks small enough on a map, and you think you'll be able to see all the main sights, but it takes a lot longer to get around than you might think. Mainly because every 500 yards you'll go "omigod" and have to stop to take a picture. I nearly wore out the lens of my camera. Ireland is the landscape equivalent of Salma Hayek. Anyone who thinks otherwise is badly in need of a soul.

  • Just came back from a driving trip in Ireland. Which side of the road to drive on is not really an issue, because most of the roads are too small to *have* sides. I was on a country lane about as wide as my laptop, with 10-foot hedges on both sides, and of course this big-ass farm truck comes the other way. Guess which of us had to drive in reverse for a mile and a half...

  • Lovely video. I live in rural Cork and these scenes are certainly very much identical to the area. It's one of the best things of living here.

  • @wnesbitt1 Thanks for stopping by my channel and commenting. Always good to hear from folks from Cork....my favorite county. I always have a special place for them since I am from the South of the US and we also call ourselves rebels. Sliante!

  • yawn yawn

  • brendan grace at 2:42 lol

  • Dublin has to be the most boring and morbid town in the world and people who live there just dont know life or there own self worth its like a prison because almost every bar and food store has arrogant polish security gaurds on them and everyone judges you for simple things like the way you dress act behave walk and talk its SICK get the fuck out and live your life . You cannot express your true self in Dublin because the culture is so extremely different to everywhere.

  • hahaha its like i always say " if your happy being Irish then its obvious that your not Irish " and i am .. and im not cuz Ireland dosnt look like that .. green tinted glasses and a John Wayne movie later and they're all Irish ..

  • @unclepot Ha! Yeah, might be something to that no matter where you are....kinda like "the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence"....and with Ireland there's certainly a lot of green!

  • @unclepot I think you'll find alot of the countryside does look like this!!

  • @moncai1 I always get amused by people who say "Ireland doesn't look like this".....where do they think these pictures were taken??? I took them all, no photoshop, no enhancements, only a cheap digital camera.....Ireland looks EXACTLY like this! And, I assure you that I could start anywhere in Ireland and go 50 miles in any direction and make a video just as nice. Like rose coloured glasses, a jaundiced eye distorts, too.

  • @unclepot most of the country is rural and most of it looks like this. where i grew up does. and lots of other places. if you might take a spin out of whatever town or city you live in you would see it for yourself.

  • @unclepot Where in Ireland are you from if you dont realise that most of the country is like this?

  • 77370 ie 777 plus 39 holy number thrice Father Son and Holy Spirit plus whiplashes

  • Absolutely brilliant video, scenery, humour, and a nice easy approach! Lovely in deed, and I live in Ireland, a guy once said to me on a rainy day in Ireland, "'Twould be a great Country if we could put a roof on it" ha ha.

  • @ambyyy1 Thanks so much. I'm usually an equal opportunity offender but I always take the nice easy approach on my Irish cousins. Love the roof comment, but the drawback would be that you couldn't see God smiling down on Ireland. Sliante from Florida!

  • The best presentation of Ireland I have ever seen. Of course we have been driven into the ground by greedy politicians and their pals and our beauty has been damaged by so called "development" by them but we will arise again and reclaim our heritage after many years of suffering yet to come. Those creatures were not able to take all this beauty away and they never will now because they won't have the money to buy it and destroy it anymore. Quote.. The Grapes of Wrath" "We are the people."

  • @007clooneen Thanks so much! And, I agree with your assessment of Ireland's beauty versus the developers. There's much, much more beauty in Ireland to behold and, best of all, those guys are out of money. Mar do thintean fein. Sliante!

  • Thanks....well done :-)

  • where was that ruin at 3:04 ??

  • @lynchi33 That "ruin" no longer exists...sort of. That is Dunboy Castle, ancestral home of the O'Sullivan-Beres. It's near Castletownbere in southwestern Ireland. Since that picture was taken it has been beautifully refurbished into a hotel. Check out my ''Come Home to Ireland" vid at about the 2:34 mark for before and after pics. There are also websites on the net with inside views. Very remarkable transformation.

  • @bigbeninjax thanks. really appreciate it.must check it out. CHeers mate

  • @bigbeninjax think your mistaken the ruin is in co kilkenny it is on the grounds of Kilcooley Abbey outside Urlingford it is cool place to visit havent bin there in years but it is a lovely walk

  • @irishmadhater Sorry about the confusion. Actually we are both right. The 2:34 time mark mentioned is actually for another video of mine "Come Home to Ireland"....but, in THIS video, you are right about the Abbey shown at 2:34. But, the "ruin" shown at 3:04 is now the Dunboy Hotel.....formerly Puxley Manor on Beara. Thanks!

  • im from ireland born and bread here and i love ireland but our government and fiana fail party are destroying our beautifull country

    brendan flanagan

  • @bf1964bf its gone destroyed no longer erin go bragh its Erin go broke! Banking bastards ruined lives and people all over the western world

  • kerry huh

  • My grandfather and grandmother were both born in Ireland.. so when we visited (from America) we were lucky enough to have alot of family over there that allowed us stay with them. By doing so we were able to visit some beautiful places in areas the tour buses dont take you to. I even climbed croagh patrick. My family is from Mayo & Donegal & it was amazing visiting the areas. I still remember my little cousin from county mayo telling me leprechauns lived in her back yard it was the cutest thing

  • what you dont see is the 5 hotels just out of shot and the car parks and the 5 star Spa

    o yea ..

    lovey show tho 100% thanks

  • lovely scenes for this armchair traveler, not to mention lovely music .....highly enjoyed....!!!I love green........;-)

  • @cinderellalifestyle Thanks for joining the tour, LL, and glad you enjoyed the tunage especially. I gotta find that 'cigarbox guitar' button on my keyboards next!

  • boring

  • all too common. the problem is irish people cant do anything for themselves. they will always copy other people driving too close etc. i dont know how many times i have been driving along at 110kph with a car stuck to my tail for miles and miles on motorway. i accelerate to 120 and the car overtakes me. they have to 'beat' me. happens all the time. try it.

  • This video is really well done, maybe it left out some of the finest roads in Europe

in favour of the disappearing country scene, but it covers it all very good, well done.

Those visiting Ireland should however bring loads of Euros, bags!

  • You'd have to be blind not to see the leprechauns - they're all over Ireland. Just more obvious with their wealth these days.

  • Actually, walking is much better than driving. And try riding bicycles, horses, taking trains and buses too. The car is polluting Ireland dreadfully.

  • @zephyrquartz Agreed! There are few better places for hiking/walking than Ireland. Just get out of the car or tour bus and enjoy it. There are many places accessible by foot that really afford memorable views and scenes but don't require you to be in great shape to get there.

  • @zephyrquartz yeah you can take a tour bus but it costs a fortune is cheaper to take the car and u can visit all the places u got in the vid at a fraction of the price i know cos i been to most of the places there and seen the prices tour company's charge

  • @welshguy1984 - I didn't suggest you take tour buses or tours at all !

  • i want to go to ireland now!

  • sorry, boring!

  • whoever made this video , is advertising ireland , still as a leprauchan infested isle!

but i dont disagree,, becoz ur bringing us tourists, who arrive :L and realise there isnt a leprauchan is sight!

  • @bigsmile1994 just trying to do my part for the economy, mate!

  • @bigsmile1994 shutcha trap aint no leprechauns infected island

  • @bigsmile1994 Actually it IS a leprechaun-infested isle. Just have a look around...

  • funny vid, cheers

  • Congratulations and well done on a very fine video presentation, i'm from Galway and was really impressed with you video. Well done again. Slainte !

  • looks like no one is there and where are the trees ? its just a bunch of rocks...and a cow. oh and some old abondoned castles.

no wonder My Old Family roots moved from Ireland to the USA

  • @canadastreetmedia "Looks like no one is there"....same could be said for most of British Columbia, but to be honest, I don't see a down-side to that. As for the lack of trees, the story goes that you have to go to Britain to see most of them. Sliante!

  • @bigbeninjax Wasn't it Flann O'Brien who said; if the road is going your way the journey will be downhill and easy but if the road is no going your way it will be uphill and difficult? I once cycled down a road that was not going my way, but it was at night. Only in the morning did I see the number of potholes in it. I don't know how I managed to miss them.

  • @heliotropezzz333 not sure of the source of the quote, but it's a good one, and especially the cycling analogy. Too many people go thru life with blinders on, only seeing what they want to see and oblivious to what's around them. But, history tells us that sooner or later we WILL hit one of those potholes and the wheels will fall off.

  • Be'n there and the scenes were great

    but the maidens

    well my age may negate

but then there are video scenes

  • @indah007 Age may cause things to fall,

but it's better to have loved and lost

than to have never loved at all.

  • Nice

  • my dad was pissed when we went to ireland. he crashed the rental car cuz he thought it was difficult. no one was hurt thank god! lol

  • love it , tastefully done !

  • I've been driving in Ireland for 40-years (all those with a "full license") as opposed to the thousands who have drive for 40-years with a "provisional license" (learner's permit).

    AND,

I have one bit of advice: Remove the rear view mirror from your car before you start the engine. Serious tailgating is the norm!

  • Good advice, BSB. Might even want to take off the outside mirrors, too, before the hedgerows on those narrow roads do it for you. ;-)

  • Ah the Healy pass!!

  • o and by the way i dont think they wer talkin bout proper mad cows i think it was the mad cow roundabout hah.! xxxx

  • Yeah, it's the Mad (Red) Cow Roundabout and market in dublin....you gotta love the Irish sense of humour.

  • And what kind of sense of humour will it be when, we are a land like every other...a mix of African, Asian, oriental east european etc.

when we're all supposedly different countries and cultures yet in reality are all the same

what humour will it be then...a bland one-world sameness, thats what

    soulless

  • dont stand shite....dats the most important thing hi.! by the way i have'nt a clue what the squigly lines are....never before have i seen them in my life hah.! you acctualy do hav to slow down for the animals tho.they are everyware loike.its gone beyond a joke lyk.thats the shannon dolphin by the way.....that ferry.! im always on it its klaas bah......ne waays the main thing is GO TO IRELAND.....its the best country in the wooorld....! xxxxx

  • thx so much for this video! I have seen lots of those places and I TOTALLY LOVED!!!!! *****

  • Driving in Ireland is a bit daunting at first. We drove the Ring of Kerry which we called the Ring of Scary! But we had a great time. Thanks for posting this. It's very beautiful.

  • Drive on the left, slow down for animals, occasionally get out of the car, and don't stand in shite. Genius.

  • Muy lindo pais!!

    Excelente video!

  • Gracias, Ger!

  • Yeah, waaeaa, welcome to our world.

    BB in USA

  • Cheers BB, Oh but don't ye know, I'm a racist for showing the facts of what is going on.

Damn me anyway, bloody racist bastard ....me. I should be ignoring facts and talking the opposite of the reality, then a happy shiny peace can ensue for all, hurrahh.

    Not.

  • Yep, waaeaa, seems as soon as you post them, some narrow mind marks them as spam...I un-spam them....don't confuse the libs with trivials like the facts! I don't mind ANYONE posting on my site as long as they keep it clean and quote factual references.

  • A rally racer's dream but a bit dangerous if you're distracted by the lush beauty of the countryside.

    Thanks Ben ;^)

  • Yeah, JC, you better have your curb feelers out. Thanks for coming along for the ride.

  • 3:30 , i went to that last weekend!

just a short ryanair weekend trip:P

  • pat cohahs pub.. ahh yes that was in the film the quite man

  • Good eye, Larry. I guess that's why they call you the Lookout. Actually, all 5 of my Ireland videos have at least one scene from The Quiet Man in them....see if you can spot them.

  • Very nicely put together, but the pub in Cong ( The quiet Man ) does not open untill after noon as struck.

    ArchieUKx

  • Thanks, Archie. Yes, it's good to see the site actually being used now as a pub. The owner has done a nice job with it. Glad the petrol pumps are gone, especially.

  • Probably yours

  • some good photoe,s ,hope you enjoyed you,r stay.

  • I just posted a new vid showing the latest stay in Ireland (Shout Out to Ireland). Please check it out. I think you'll enjoy it!

  • MAKE IT STOP

  • ..i was in ireland in '03..and i loved it..and want to go back...!

  • you were in listowel!

  • this cant really be Ireland!!! it isn't raining in any of the pics!! ;)

  • LOL....timing is everything!

  • Oh gosh.... This is just.... Wow.

    American visitors?

  • Currently!

  • Did an American person make this?

  • I think so.theres a picture of a one way street.and he says you usualy drive on the left for fuck sake.

  • The "usually" pic at 0:41 is a two way street thru the town of Eyeries. You'll also notice that some of the vehicles in that picture and several others are parked facing against traffic....something that can get you a ticket in the US.....just thought some people might want to be aware of the differences.

  • Very nice pictures! Thanks!

  • cool video, love it....

  • I love this video! What you say about the driving is SO true. Now when you get to the West ie. Roundstone , Lettermullen the signs are all in Irish!! We have been there 6 times so we do keep up with the locals BUT just a little bit slower. :-))

  • Yes, those signs in the west do add a little intrigue to your journey!

  • Looks like a cold place.

  • It's great to see such appreciative tourists!

  • did you enjoy your trip in ireland, it's not that abd of a place. I find, because i live here, that i ignore all the things you spot, you gaze ina we at castles, majestic glens and wide open land scapes. Where as i just glance at them and moan, because i have to take a 5 miles detour about them

  • marctb1, great comment and the prime reason I made this video. I have been to Ireland many times and enjoyed them all. What you say is very typical of all of us....we don't always see the beauty that surrounds us. Sometimes it is right under our feet...we just need someone else to point it out. That is why it is important to travel just for the sake of travel...not because we MUST get somewhere.

  • the squigly lines mean slow down =)

  • I love the part about "going great distances without seeing sinage" - that is so true, but it's the wonder, fun and excitement of driving in Ireland...I can't wait to go again this year!!!

  • "going great distances without seeing sinage"...yes, that can be seen as a blessing and a curse....mainly a blessing after seeing all the visual pollution from signs in the States, Ireland is a refreshing change.

  • a truth taht is. Besides most people have gps nowadays, so the lack of sinage may not necessarily be a problem...

  • im from wales but my familys from waterford and we try to go back 3 or 4 times a year i wasnt born there but it is very beautiful country.

  • thanks for telling us. that was very intersting. lol

  • at least u wont get car jacked in ireland

  • Especially not on Dursey!

  • yes of course-i'm originally from beara so have been on it quite a few times. you should definitely try it once anyway. and dursey island itself is a beautiful place for a walk ona nice day.

  • Thanks! I'll make a point to get by there. Should be some interesting video from up there! We love Beara, as you can tell from my vids.

  • did you go on the cable car into dursey island?

  • No, didn't have the time. Have you? How is it? I'll be back in that area in a few months.

  • Cool, thanks for the vid. You don't say what the zigzag lines are for though!

  • Ireland is beautiful. i really enjoyed the pictures of the coast. the ocean must have been very calm that day, but i bet it's spectacular to see it slam against the rocks.

  • Great pics and music

  • WOW!!! Beautiful sceneries and people. Must visit one day!:) Thanks for posting.

    Grandma Mary

  • Thanks, Mary!

To all who visit here, be sure to visit Mary's site for some truly great guitar playing. She could do the soundtrack to one of my vids any day!!!

  • bigbeninjax

Hehehe!!! Many thanks... a big smile for you and your kind words. You are making me blush!:):) Take good care my friend.

    Grandma Mary

  • I've always thought that i one day would visit Ireland. From what i've heard ppl are rly warm and freindly, and the country is beautiful. This vid almost made me pack my mountain bike and head of.

    Great job!:-)

  • Thanks, it's an ideal place for biking!

  • Yes we are. Lol

  • yo veo estos videos con los ojos de mi alma y mi corazon ver tanta belleza y muchos que no valoran las cosas lindas de esta maravillosa tierra que el creador nos dio gracias.

  • Concuerdo contigo, Carmensofia09. Gracias para tu comentario.

  • Comment removed

  • ok...wow, bit of an odd comment there. lighten up ;)

  • Thanks, Jessica. The only saving grace for Semtexxt was that he removed that nonsense before I did. I don't mind a little dissent, but that guy was way over the top.

  • i have since found out that he has his reasons for being down about ireland. there is a much deeper reason. he is a nice bloke. ask him why and im sure you will understand.

  • I've watched some of his vids and I think I see his concerns. Thanks, JessicaMaree.

  • Ireland was great the Cliffs of Moher were crazy it started hailing! haha but Ireland is the most beautiful country that i know. when i went there was breathtaking sights Blarney Castle and all the other stuff it was just amazing..

  • I love Ireland! And the people there are SO friendly:-)

  • Warm, funny, and beautiful. A great Saint Patrick's Day view.

  • This was worth every second. Thanks for your humor and "the obligatory shot of the Cliffs of Mohr." I would have felt cheated. LOL! This was very enjoyable with some breathtaking pictures.

  • Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. As for The Cliffs, that was probably one of the last pictures taken of it without that bloody wall they put up along the edge. Well, at least they didn't put a net under it, too.

  • Very charming video! It reminds me so much my first trip to Ireland in 1986, when we did our best to stay on that type of roads , well we STAYED on them , no problem .. i meant , we insisted on TAKING those winding "roads" and I will never forget the meeting with the locals. Sweet memories. (I also like the style of the video). Cheers!

  • Thanks for your kind comment, this is cool, would love to say it makes me feel homesick, it for sure is as beautiful a country as my own homeland Scotland but Im afraid Im only a Cockney Jock, scottish Pa, East End Ma ) now living in Bonnie Suffolk, it was my Grt Grandad that was from Donnegal - I still drinks at least 20 pints of Guiness every Week and a bottle of Jamies every Xmas Guess wherever u lay ur hats ur Home Best to all my worldwide Irish Amigos Prod or Caths

  • Glad to hear you're still remembering your roots and keeping the Irish economy going by drinking the local brew. Myself, my bar wouldn't be complete without a good 12 year sitting on it! Glenrothes is my drug of choice this week.

  • lol

  • what a retarded video

  • Takes one to know one, I guess.

  • Did you just call that guy a retarded video?....

  • Something like that.....

  • Because if you tried to call him a retard you failed...

  • Not really.

  • Perhaps he is a video , we may never know that :-O doesnt seem too bright though

  • and 1:53 is Dursey Cable Car, just over the road from me :)

  • 0:40 thats Eyeries Village in the South West, i live there :D

  • The area around Eyeries is my favorite of all Ireland. Breathtaking landscapes everywhere! You are fortunate to live in such beauty.

  • My car was shagged driving through Ireland, its ok on the main roads but im talking out in rural Ireland in the sticks of Mayo where the roads are barely wide enough for one car never mind a car and the local farmer in his tractor wanting to get by. You have to drive pretty much into the hedges to let people by and it scrapes the hell out of the paintwork. That said i adore driving in Ireland, some truely breathtaking scenery!

  • Wise words there, dazwalsh. Always get the insurance on the rental car for just such places if you're the least bit adventurous at sight-seeing. Those hedge rows are unforgiving. LOL But, you'll be rewarded with many of the scenes in these vids that, otherwise, I would not have gotten.

  • I love this video. I am headed to Belfast, Ireland for a 16 day vacation in less than a month. I want to see St. Patrick's Day there. But thankfully my boyfriend will be doing all the driving. Being stateside I have a feeling I wouldn't last long on the roads there. Your video just make me want to get there even more than I do now. I can't wait and I hope I am lucky enough to see the sites like you did.

  • If you're going to NI, don't miss the Giant's Causeway area in Antrim. Also there are Carrick a Rede bridge (you afraid of heights?) and Dunluce Castle. Awesome scenery all along there....and the Bushmills distillery gives out lots of free samples, too, if you volunteer to be a "taster"! LOL Also near Belfast, visit the town of Downpatrick where St. Pat is buried since you are there in his honour.

If your first trip there, I suggest you watch the movie Michael Collins to get some background.

  • Thank you for the advice, Big Ben. My boyfriend lives in Belfast so I have had a lot of help from him in he is planning a lot of places for us to visit. We have planned the Giant's Causeway, Newgrange, DownPatrick On St. Pat's Day, I want to go to Carrick a reda Bridge but he believes it will be closed while I am there. He says they take it down to repair it when the colder season is about. We are also taking the Dublin Pass, Have you ever done it? There is also Carrickfergus castle plus more :)

  • I've done all the things you named except use the Dublin Pass to get around. I always rent a car and/or walk to get around. You're gonna have a great visit since you have a local to show you around. Sliante!

  • We are going to be in Dublin March 12-22. Would you suggest DownPatrick or Dublin for the best St. Patrick's day celebration. We plan to be in Belfast one day for the C.S. Lewis tour. Is Downpatrick far from Belfast? Could we do both in one day? Thanks for any advice.

  • It depends on why you're there for St. Pat's Day. If you're there to party, I'd say Dublin. If you're there for the religious experience, I'd say Downpatrick. Downpatrick is only 20+ miles from Belfast. It's about a two hour-plus drive from the outskirts of Dublin to Downpatrick so you COULD do both in one day. But, it takes an hour to go into city centre Dublin and park (good luck).

  • Thanks for the info! I may have to do some replanning.

  • Hehe, i had to take a look at his video

Marcel and i have been to Ireland ones and we diden't had any problems driving over there, but Marcel forgot to go drive on the other site of the road when we did get back to Holland

    Jolanda

  • Yep, when I get back to the States I have to keep telling myself "Think right!" every time I come to an intersection for about a week. It must be really disconcerting to drive the Chunnel from Britain to France and have to suddenly change sides.
