Would it not make more sense lowering yourself slowly then exploding as hard as you can up? That way you develop fast ,explosive and powerful muscles? My reasoning is when you train muscles to be slow they work slow. If you train muscles to work fast then they work fast. I'm not saying work slow but I'm saying when you can work fast, then seize the day and do it. I'm also not saying that I'm better than him at height but I do know my body's response to work outs from working out for 10 years.

Forget about calf raises in reality they do very little for your vertical jump, Try the Vertical Jump Bible (Google it you'll be able to find it for free) Get committed, stay committed and within 2 or so months you'll see gains somewhere around 8-10 inches, the program even includes a bodyweight strength training program for somebody who doesnt have access to a gym.

Damn you're really tall, if you have a vertical just like any other normal people, then you should be able to dunk. I think you should have hands big enough to palm the a ball easily since you're this big. If you're kind of fat, loose your weight, all the high flyers on the NBA court have like less than 5% body fat compare yo their weight.

@Ebster16 u see, u can train ur leg till it gets as big as a bodybuilder, u dont get higher leap of that. Go to the court, and jump between 50-100 (every day, or every second day) times against the rim and try to touch as high u can every time, then togheter with ur leg work you will gain result... :D (hope it helps)
@Ebster16 Strength isnt the same thing as explosiveness. Instead of building strength, work on the initial launch; try to get from point A (couch) to point B (apex of your jump) in as little time as possible. The faster the launch, the higher you go :D

For rebounds, layups, to block shots, simply TRYING to dunk after the game was over. Wanna jump high? jump more. I did that several years ago, 200 a set, 2 sets a day, and I wouldnt be able to walk the next day.
