hi john - just watched this again -SOBER!!- and have to say - u figured out this song very similar to how i did - as in the "C droping down fret and then back to the open D" - a beautiful roll - here ill post my version - GREAT STUFF MAN
hi john - i tell ya most of the pubs are the same in ireland now - fu$%ed - so to speak - bad for buisness but good for playing gental music - whats the story with the pubs in the UK - are they doing ok?- our crap government has destroyed the pub scene here with smoking bans, 50 milegrams drink driving limit and the cost of a pint - it dont look good - thinking of going to the usa - 1 way - be good
Beautifully composed and performed. I'm not into nationalism but I help feeling a tingle of Irish pride shoot through me when I hear this song! Thanks for sharing!
Ye very nice John i'm sat here drinking san miguel, just finished playing myself and now listening to you. Love it the whole vibe you've got going and i'm on the tetleys from now on.
One of my favourite songs, played with perfectly sustained balance, timing and speed. The tune, guitar and voice blend perfectly. I am deeply moved by your performing of this music. You are a genius.
Not sure about the genius bit - but if that's what being pleasantly drunk does for my playing, I'll make sure I spend more time in a state of inebriation.
You have been misinformed. This is an IRISH song. After all of the horrific things the English have done to Ireland, don't credit them with our sweet labour.
Thanks for 7 minutes (+) of great music. I don't know your politics but I know your music and it is beautiful. I wish I could steal your music and use it (with credit) in some of my videos. Well done!
Hypnotic droning. Very relaxing. Tuned down a semitone and a capo on 1st fret means the one kind of cancels the effect of the other. That old guitar's lasting well.
Beautiful!

I tune down and capo because for some reason the guitar resonates better when I do that - and it improves the action, too.
