I think its better than borla. but I dont understand what could be the purpose for silencing such an awesum RX8 ?!?! if it was up to me/if I were u, I wouldnt silence it....rotaries r generally quieter than piston motors & I would definitely show off n want people to notice me n my ride if its an awesome sports car, the RX8

most silencers take away about 7dBs at most, and that IS a lot.. remember 93dB vs 86dB is not an 8% reduction in volume, its a logarithmic scale. Regardless, tunable silencers are usually 1dB to 6dB reduction, and auto silencers are less than 5dB reduction.

I didn't like it being in the exhaust flow. I don't want to claim loss of power or anything since butt dynos are usually inaccurate. I would have to had gone to a dyno in order to tell you the answer. Which I didn't. Personally, I don't recommend it
I didn't get it dynoed, so all I can do is guess at how much it effected things. I don't use it anymore, and I don't know if I would recommend it either.
Ok well I've been thinking about getting this type silencer for my N1 catback that I've got on my Eclipse. I was wondering is it only loud under WOT and how does it sound with say just half throttle? Is it much louder than say stock when you're not mashing it? Thanx.....
hard to say, since the stock exhaust is very quiet, and the hi-power is extremely loud. I would say that the sound is roughly cut down by half or 2/3rds in the low rpm range, and full volume at WOT.
i removed the apexi silencer. if I was NA (no turbo), I think I'd have kept it (added back pressure at low rpm, free flowing at higher). But with the turbo, I prefer the exhaust without it.
Without a doubt the Borla has a nicer note to it. But the HKS Hi-Power flows better. I think the muffler is just glasspack, which is why it's so loud...
the tin sound from the hi-power has gotten a lot less, so it's nicer now that the inside of the exhaust is covered with a layer of soot... I still think the borla sounds nicer, but this exhaust flows better
i agree i have a honda civic and i put a borla 3 1/2" titanum exaust system on it with headers and aem intake...i also done other things....but i love the way that turbo sounds....ima get one soon but i dont think ima go with greedy.....why did you put the silencers on you pipe??is there a law for it being to loud in fl?
I don't want to drive around like a spaz with a loud ass riced out car. I don't mind loud at high rpm, but loud at 2k rpm is stupid. I have since gotten rid of the HKS Hi-Power exhaust, so I don't have the silencer anymore.
thats kool....my car isn't to loud in low rpm...but sounds really good at about 4k-8k rpm..so do you race?? and you should post somemore vids up..i think your car is awsome....and im sure other ppl would like to see you burn some asses lmao....

Who cares about it?
My dad loves my loud exhaust.
It should be about what YOU want for loudness.
Most silencers take away about 8 decibels.
Not a lot.

No, it doesn't fit. The ATS needs some modifications to work. Since I'm not using mine anymore, it's available for sale and will be a drop in fit.
