  • Still one of my all time favourites.

@Ayleesha you can get it from Amazon. I managed to get a copy of mine when I was in the UK.

  • A movie cannot be bad starting like that.

  • I feel bad watching an entire movie on Youtube instead of the actual movie on DVD but where can I buy in Canada? I LOVE British movies & TVshows, especially comedies, me the little Franco-Ontarian who was so afraid of English when she was younger. So happy I learned it & learn to love it - now can't get enough of it (still LOVE French though, it is after all my first language). If I ever worked abroad (which might be a possibility) I would choose England.

  • Who is that at 4:35 or 4:36, just as Rita Rudner's name comes up? Can't place him at all.

  • thank you so very much for posting!!

  • I had the poster of this movie on my Dorm wall. C2-D2 Cottrell House Charles Sturt Uni 1993!

  • Seems difficult to sing when you look at the lyrics. They did a good job though :)

  • 3 Chiswick Park and Turnam Green, Stamford Brook and Ravenscourt Park, Hammersmith and Baron's Court, West Kensington and Baywater, And again Paddington, Then change for Maida Vale. WOO! Willesden Junction, Didn't notice Kensal Green, Watford Highstreet, Christ we've gone too far! Stop at Watford, Back again to Baker Street, Kings Cross, Moorgate, Northen line to Bank, And the escalator link to Moniment, We jump the circle, And we've going round and round, And round and round, ALL CHANGE!
  • 2 Fulham Broadway, Heading down for Wimbledon, Wimbledon Park, now we've crossed the Thames, Back to Earl's Court, Right up to Victoria, Change for Green Park, Home in time for tea, To check the map to find the route to start again, So after tea we're off again, We go through Swiss Cottage, Heading northward on the Jubilee, We change at Metropolitan, At Finchley Road, Which takes us round, To change at Rayner's Lane, Sudbury Hill and Sudbury town, Alperton and Acton Town
  • 1 Stand clear of the doors. Mind the gap! Let's all go down to Oxford Circus, Past Trafalgar Square, Then down from Charing Cross, Right up to Euston, Then change to the Victoria, Then the Piccadilly, Takes us round to Gloucester Road, Kensington, and Notting Hill Gate, Holland Park and Sheppard's Bush, Ladbroke Grove, Westbourne Park, Royal Oak and Paddington, Edgware Road and Baker Street, Great Portland Street and Euston Square, Barbican and Aldgate East, And change for Tower Hill,
  • Love Rita Rudner

  • I remember the dancing part at the beginning of the movie from Stephen Fry's "50 Not Out" but had no idea what it was from. So happy I fell on this movie on here! I had just told myself I was going to try and find out what it was from. Now I don't have to! Thanks for uploading!! :D

  • o now i see thanks

  • thank you!!!! this has been a very hard to find movie.

  • simply beautiful...

  • simply beautiful...

  • Given that it's going on the 20th anniversary for this film a sequel would be interesting.

  • where is michael jackson?

  • @speechless070 He's in there for about 2 seconds at around 4:36-ish. But don't blink or you'll miss him.

  • Isn't this the manor they used in the last episode of Kingdom?

  • "yes it could have been worse! they could have attached electrodes to our genitals!!" ahhhhh love these people :D

  • I was young...."They" were

Young too. It makes me feel so

    Much older today

  • I've been singing that bloody "lets go down to oxford..." song all day aha fantastic film!

  • I love this film. It just shows that all you need for a fantastic film is good writing and acting. Not car explosions and lava..

  • Curt Smith's voice really works well with the montage here x I can't wait to watch the rest of this film x

  • As Imelda said, you really made my day by posting this film! Thank you SO MUCH :)

  • luv this film, havnt seen it in years, i forgot haw funny it was

  • Don't think this film has aged well... love the opening credits but it looks so dated now!

  • I have SO much work to do...but I'm finishing this damn movie tonight.

  • @smell1it1gently I LOVE YOU!!

  • I saw this film years ago. Glad to see it again, thanks for uploading it.

  • Thank you so much for posting this! Cheers! xx

  • Stephen Fry should have been Oscar nominated.

  • imelda and hugh actually look rather good together

  • @mdincaa3

They were also together in Sense and Sensibility! Quite a different couple though!

  • I could've sworn that the song during the credits was Queen's You're My Best Friend. Maybe, it was just my imagination but it definitely makes more sense.

  • I really need to read for the exam... just have to watch this..and the next 11 clips

  • Hahah I did not see those legs coming!

  • OMG That first song made me laugh so much! Was not expecting those costumes! XD

  • How can those dozy turds not be amused when so many legends are performing for them on stage? ;-)

  • i'm all for piracy, its a great way to watch films for free, but this film in particular is losing my dad money. we're pretty broke as it is and the occasional royalty cheque from this film is a godsend.

    Bastard.

  • Quinci Matthews

    Susan Wadsomi

    Jillian Harris

    Ellen Greene

    Pamela Karro

  • This is the English version of The Big Chill, but who cares. Its still a damn good film. Besides American TV today takes its cue from England. I just wish we had enough sense here to show more British shows in our prime time.

  • Could you please send me the Underground song lyrics in a PM?

    Thank you so much!

One of the funniest English movies...

  • A great fun movie. Teaches about the value of friendship and though may not see them for many years it is still there. Friends and good ones at that are the best and rare kind.

  • It's a good film, but doesn't portray any "real" brits, however it's perfectly understandable to the upper classes.

I have to imagine i'm a prince and minted to relate to it. It was brave at time to task the issue of AIDS,but I do wonder if the chattering classes were more outraged you couldn't get AIDS removed by BUPA or Harley Street.

Solid performances - but the more i see Imelda Stauton lately, the more i want to end it all :)

(She's always over acting, it grates on me nerves it do)

  • "It could have been worse" "Yes, they could have attached electrods to our genitals" LMAO

And Laurie, long before dr house...

  • I MUST get the lyric in a clear way!!!!!!!!Can someone???

  • Sorry to have kept you! Lyrics:

    1.

Stand clear of the doors. Mind the gap.

Let's all go down to Oxford Circus past Trafalgar Square and then from Charing Cross right up to Euston. Then change to the Victoria and then the Picadilly takes us round to Gloucester Road. Kensington and Notting Hill Gate, Holland Park and Shepherd's Bush, [something] and [something] and Royal Oak and Paddington, etc. etc. etc.

  • 2.

... Wimbeldon Park, now we cross the Thames, etc, etc, etc, Home in time for tea to check the map to find the route to start again... etc. etc .etc. Round and round and round and round, etc. etc. etc.

Sorry I can't hear everything but basically they just list London underground stations. The point is that the music is the Can Can from Offenbach's Orfeus in the UNDERWORLD and this song is about the UNDERGROUND.

  • The 1982-1992 montage was brilliant.

  • @Elitist20 - I agree, its kinda captivating the way it captures a lot of the World event that happened in the 10 Years between their meetings. I actually wonder what it would be like if they did a sequel. All the Actors are not only still around but have gone on to even bigger and better things (some of them anyway, Imelda Staunton and Emma Thompson back together in Harry Potter in 2007 :-D) so I'd love to see how the Characters they play in this Film have faired in 20 Years from 1992 ;-)

  • i will always watch a film that has stephen fry wearing ladies underwear. thanks for posting.

  • Just curious, what do you mean?

  • Are you having mid-life crisis? Do you need to see a doctor?

  • I love that they all say BAAA. That's really a Stephen thing

  • Whos Peter ? A humble man, kind, nice, with a lot f friends, and still a great desire for Life.

A terrible disease, not yet been defeated, he has struck. Hell tough it out with dignity, privacy and silence his pain. And his friends ? They are special : kind souls, trust in love& friendship, the greatest food & drug to deal with horrors and misfortunes of this new World today.

  • omg !!

for a 15 year old, this is an astonishing film to favourite !!!

thanks so much for uploading :|

  • One of my favorite movies, thanks for posting!

  • Thanks for uploading

All these British actor together in a film is amazing

  • Was that old guy in 'To Sir, With Love'?!

  • "ben, please play with the tractor that cost daddy 40 pounds, not the box it came in. " LMFAO

  • that was me! i was two years old

  • What's the song during the credits?

  • I think it's 'Everybody wants to rule the world' by Tears For Fears. :)

  • What the heck is Imelda Staunton's character talking about at 3: 21?

  • Oh, I've entirely prepared now for a cosy afternoon with tea accompanied by Stephen's, Emma's, Hugh's, Kenneth's and Imelda's wonderful performances. A film which is not moderate in any sense. Just plain bliss.

  • Thank you SO much for uploading, I've been dying to see this film.

  • Stephen and Hugh have some legs!

  • 06:50 - is that a Gucci cardigan?

  • yes i believe it is, i'm glad i'm not the only one who notices things like that :)

  • Although I am quite fond of this film, I also find it extremely annoying at the same time. Most people in England do not live in a house like Peter - far from it. This, like most films based in England gives the impression that most of us either live in a massive mansion, or we are chavscum - nothing in between. It's such bollocks. Anyway, sorry for the rant - I've been on nightshift and I'm knackered!

  • Although i can see why some are annoyed with this comment, in some respects i agree. Not to tar everyone with the same brush, but a lot of Americans feel we are all upper middle class (going on some of the ridiculous comments which have been made about the English) and are disillusioned when i tell them otherwise!

  • I just think the movie portrays THAT group of friends' (hence the title 'Peter's friends'.;-D) not a sample of British people way of life...this imho.

  • Theyre not meant to be typical british, theyre a bunch of oxbridge thespians.

  • I must admit, I don't think this is a particularly good movie... but I love it anyway. It's endearing somehow. Enough that even though the plot is lame, I've seen it twice and am watching it again.

  • those skirts in the beginning are fantastic colors

  • I love love love this film to pieces!!!! I hadn't seen it for about 10 years when I happened across it in a charity shop and squealed like a school girl haha :)

  • Ah, I love Stephen..

  • I finally get to see this movie! Thank you.

  • Thank you so much for uploading this!

  • omg... thanks a lot for uploading that... i really was looking forward watching this movie... i love stephen and hugh!! P=

  • I remember seeing this in the movie theatre when it came out. Rita Rudner is hilarious in this!!

  • Thanyou, you've lit my day up as a christmas-tree with thousands of red christmas lights. Thought I never would be able to see this film. I really hope that it will not be removed, because lots of people surely wants to see this. I'm both a Stephen and Hugh fan, so, perfect.

  • it took me a long time to put it up...so, i wont be taking it down any time soon...great movie eh?

  • i'm all for piracy, but my dad is broke and the occasional royalty cheque from this film is a godsend

    bastard.

  • @assburgers1 please stop lying and get a life if anything this kight inspire people to but their own copy of the film
