  • looks like an indian serial

  • This is the most inaccurate and most stupid movie that I have

ever seen. Our ancestors came from India and built a big

civilization in Srilanka with many ancient tempels. This movie

is a disgrace for whole Srilanka.

  • I like the cinematic part. The film emphasised the truth. It seems to loose the sense of reality. I hardly can believe that history is told so foul.

  • There were no Tamils when the Sinhalese fellows invaded Sri Lanka, there were only Veddhas in Sri Lanka at that time. The Tamils came to Sri Lanka long after the Sinhalese as merchants from South India ,and settled down in the country. In fact Two Tamil chiefs named Sena and Guttika from South India invaded the kingdom of Anuradhapura and led an army allied with the local Tamil people population to defeat king Suratissa in battle.

  • The Sinhala did nothing during the arrival of the Portuguese except submit to their will and aid them in trying to control the whole island and suppress the only group who resisted them, the original inhabitants of the island, the Tamils. Here is another cinematic spin of the truth. The sinhala excel the twisting and turning the truth. Where is the truth regarding how the sinhala fled northern india and settled in the island en masse to escape their slaughter?

  • since moving to UK I have missed all great movies and the teledramss, this looks like a great movie, hope I get a chance to see it.any chance of it being released in UK?

  • I saw this movie in Galle november 2008 because Im interested in Sri Lanka. Its difficult to understand for a Western. I try.

    Marinka, Holland

  • Another phase is King Sithawaka rajasingha and Mayadunne's era which destroyed protugeese..and King rajasingha the 2's era which Battered Protugeese from all parts of the motherland sealing only intothe colombo fort.! new fillms should come on mainly to reshape two things. 1. Teach Elamist tamils who are singhales that they are dealing with. 2. Defeate western mindset of sinhalease and provoke the sinha proudness to look in a new dimension towards the future

  • Somebody soon must make a film out of King 'Dutugamunu' the most heroic sinhala great king who established Great civilization with great architecture creating the most golden age of our history..the buddhist Anuradhapura which stud more than 1500 years unfallen, even the Roman empire didnt stud that long...the nice thing It was our capital for 1500 years and it was only 1000 years since we left it alone...! amazing!!

  • All must watch this movie ...... :-)

    Really nice .

  • Jackson likes 'gigantic' things. But actually he often prefers to make a mountain out of a molehill. Let's wish this won't be so. Wish it will be gigantic production not in terms of money spent but of cinematic excellence.

  • why dont they make a movie about the cities in ancient sri lanka, about hte sophisitcated irrigation system, the buildings, the temnples, fortresses etc

thats something to be proud of
