  • I was designing a tri-fold brochure in Indesign CS4. I put some blue text on the first leaf. On the second leaf I put a box and filled it with a darker blue blue, the moment I added the transparency to the box, the colour of the text on the first leaf also changed. I was stumped. then I tried working by creating two different layers. Still the problem persisted. will be grateful if you could help.

  • @kharsha99 Unfortunately I still only have CS3 so I'm guessing here a little bit, but I think I know what's going on. InDesign is a little weird with transparency and seems to have trouble expressing the page colors when transparency is involved. One thing you can do is render a sample PDF and you will probably find that the color change was in your display only. Not quite sure of a fix for this. Good luck!

  • The easiest and fastest way to do this is to put a stroke on them. You can change the size of the outline with the stroke palette.

  • how do you outline numbers in indesign?

What tools can you use or effects

    besides the pen tool?

  • When you change the font make sure that you have the text selected (or even better, use styles). If you don't have anything selected it will just change the default font size for that document which does you no good. Hope that helps, maybe I'll do my second video on this subject...

  • nice tutorial, hope u post more advanced lessons :)

  • What sort of things would you like to learn how to do?
