Yay for grilling. I was always very afraid of grilling with charcoal, but this summer I worked in the kitchen at a camp and I had to grill hot dogs once a week on a charcoal grill. I got used to it, and now I want to get a charcoal grill for home! XD
Are all of you vegan and vegetarian? I love animals but everytime I try to go vegan I get sick and the doctor tells me to eat my meat. I care about the enviorment though...even though I'm a murderer
Don't hate it! Make it a memorial to your father. Do something to keep him alive. Make a scrapbook add a page every year with written and photo memories of your Daddy. You are very blessed to have had a Dad. Mine may still be alive. But, drugs n alcohol got in the way of him being a father to us. Please cherish n be grateful 4 what u had. Make it a HAPPY MEMORIAL. I understand
Normally I love this stuff. But seriously, I was disappointed that Meg went to Lowes, the corporate giant. Why wouldn't you support local hardware stores?
I appreciate the mom & pop shop support, and totally agree. In every single episode, I say if you can't recycle, buy at your local hardware store. But if you are going to shop at a big business, which a lot of people inevitably do, they should know of the corporations who are making a change. Ideally, RECYCLE & DON'T BUY, but most of this country doesn't think like that yet, so we have to encourage them to at least shop smart.
It's important to encourage the changes business are making.
My mum and I love to grill Portabella mushrooms in the summer, we scrub the tops then flip them over and give the gills a good coating of olive oil before placing them top down on the grill for a few minutes while the oil gets hot. Then flip them over and WHAM! insta flame-broiled Shroomy goodness. ^.^
such a good one, meg. your lowe's montages are so cute! and that dress is awesome!!
BTW, my brother and i made a donation to a rescue dog organization in our dad's name for father's day! i totally encourage you all who can't figure out what to gift, to chip in a donation to your dad's favorite charity!
I love this Decor It Yourself, as my true love for DIY is in the home, but do you know what I miss on Threadbanger?
Threadbanger!
Also Eco-friendly is cool, but I miss all the punky DIY we used to get in the old days.
Great episode though Meg, currently sorting my garden out with ideas from your last show so some friends and I can actually USE my garden for BBQ's, so this one and that one was a great help.
am i the only one who thinks it's odd that they're teaching how to grill on Thread Banger? don't get me wrong, i love this show but it just seems...out of place. oh well.
Threadbanger is evolving and opening all kinds of new doors. We still have the killer DIY fashion on Fridays, but are embracing new mediums of DIY too.
It's DIY cooking, totally a good fit. Meg is encouraging us to go out and get the food and make it ourselves instead of just buying it, ordering it or whatever. She also gave cool ideas and resources of where to get vegetarian hotdogs and hamburgers which is useful and VERY eco-friendly. It's cool how threadbanger is opening all of these new doors.
Lex, I am so sorry for your loss! I am sending you a lot of love from Brooklyn, this week especially. How lovely of you to still celebrate him this weekend. ALL my love comin' at you.

Are you sure you get all of the protein and iron and such when you go vegan? Maybe a vitamin B12 deficiency?
wildnose94 3 years ago 2
well your doc is wrong.
the only thing that is exclusive to meat is cholesterol.
Speak to a dietitian, you don't even need supliments. I am vegan and i'm even healthier than i was when i ate meat.

I'm not sure how my dad would react if I gave him long lasting globes for fathers day...
Too late anyway. Got him tickets to Bill Bailey! :)
So do you always call them grills in America? We call them barbeques in Australia. :)
aikochan86 3 years ago 3
we call them both... a barbeque is also the party that goes along with grilling (aka 'cookout') ^_^
