Hi there Sr. i love your videos i've watch them all and they are all great, Well i finally got me my Timneh African Grey and she's sooo sweet she is just 2 yrs old, although she's still a lil timid but i hope to get her to do tricks like yours.keep up the good work.
Congratulations! Here's what you'll need: 1. A good avian vet. 2. A good local parrot club (if you can't find one, start one). 3. Patience from you toward the bird. 4. Patience from your friends and family toward you and your new life. 5. Free time to experiment with healthy recipes that are easy to make in bulk and store that she likes. 6. A Shop Vac. With washable foam filters. 7. Another cage the bird can be in when the primary cage is being cleaned.. And do lots and lots of homework
Unsalted sunflower kernels for our guys and girls. The actual treat is not so important (as long as it's good for the bird and the bird likes it). What's important is that the treat you use for training should only be used for training. That way, when the bird is getting those treats, it knows that it's time to get down to business.
Bravo! Encore! etc.. you MUST post more videos they are much value added. my ringneck looked at me like you fetch the and ill give you a treat! ce qui sera soyez.. and your humor topnotch.
Thank you so much for this. I have a baby cockatoo that will be coming home sometime in February and I'm trying to get as much information as possible. I'll be watching your videos over and over again!
no it isnt hard to clean the poop although wooden floor is easier, use a perch with a floor on it instead. Yes they poop, you clean. Toilet training is easy!
They are so cute when young, as I've said before mine is in his early 20s and he's quite a bit different. He obviously doesn't do the baby sounds anymore nor is as "OMG WHATS THAT" about everything since he's used to most of it. But the curiosity is still there and they do learn incredibly quickly. I love the goffin personality (and most smaller toos), they are more independant and goofy then the larger ones I've worked with, which I like. :) pretty mischievious too, but I <3 that about them.
We had the opportunity to meet a couple of Goffins and really liked the personality. Goffins, while extremely smart and attentive, definitely have a mind of their own as well. Basically, they seemed like the type of birds that would thrive in the type of environment we could provide for them. When we had the opportunity to adopt a brother/sister pair of chicks, we jumped on it.
