to answer his question why God doesn't forgive our sins, is because God is a JUST God. Someone needs to pay for the sins or else God isn't a just God. That someone is Jesus. We could pay for our sins, but only through eternity in hell because we could never match up to our sins punishment because we will just keep cursing God in hell. But God is Holy and Just and full of grace that Jesus took that punishment for only some. So it really wasn't a tough question at all.

What I find awkward, is that people overlook the story and the context of the situation. Here we had a group of (people) who claimed to speak for G-d. If I were to walk into a court trial where someone was being judged for molesting your child and say, "Judge, don't punish that child molester! Give me the punishment instead!"
Would you be satisfied knowing that your child's molester got off free while an innocent man payed the price for him? That's not justice in any sense of the word.

@05lowell05 using the court case analogy, we would be the defendants (convicted) against God, who would be the Accuser, for the crimes we commit against Him (sin). Remember, He is also the Judge. we deserve to go punished for the crimes against a holy, perfect God. But He offered His Son as the substitue, who was willing to do so for our sake.

to answer his question why God doesn't forgive our sins, is because God is a JUST God. Someone needs to pay for the sins or else God isn't a just God. That someone is Jesus. We could pay for our sins, but only through eternity in hell because we could never match up to our sins punishment because we will just keep cursing God in hell. But God is Holy and Just and full of grace that Jesus took that punishment for only some. So it really wasn't a tough question at all.

So to say "there is no debate" is not far from the truth. There is far more debate within religion, especially christianity. Literal vs metaphorical, tongues, infant baptism, faith alone vs "repent of yor sins", a phrase often spouted yet not found in the bible, tithing, KJ only vs all the rest, which manuscripts are the right ones etc........

Actually, The Bible does speak about human beings on earth, in the original Hebrew, humans are called "Adam". They were made BEFORE (THE One ADAM), was placed on Earth. The error comes from a broken translation. And I imagine from the error of men /egos. But none the less, it can be found. Open your books, and see for yourself. Genesis 6th day Creation. Men and women are made. LATER on, In Chapter 2, after the seventh day, G-d created (THE Adam, and Eve)... or, a specific Man and Woman.

What I find awkward, is that people overlook the story and the context of the situation. Here we had a group of (people) who claimed to speak for G-d. These certain people did not accept their Messiah, and they had him crucified. The lesson was to teach these egos, they had sin. These egos couldn't just be told, because examples from the past, didn’t work. Love is not a robot of mens preceived doctrine. Cognitive Science, can prove, the cause and effect, that spread a deeper lesson, and truth.

If I were to walk into a court trial where someone was being judged for molesting your child and say, "Judge, don't punish that child molester! Give me the punishment instead!"
Would you be satisfied knowing that your child's molester got off free while an innocent man payed the price for him? That's not justice in any sense of the word.
No logical system of justice would consider that just.

@05lowell05 using the court case analogy, we would be the defendants (convicted) against God, who would be the Accuser, for the crimes we commit against Him (sin). Remember, He is also the Judge. we deserve to go punished for the crimes against a holy, perfect God. But He offered His Son as the substitue, who was willing to do so for our sake.

Definition of Obvious Liar: Pretending there is no God or, pretending anything else that is not based on any evidence. Atheism = greatest and most baseless of all known human superstitions. If there is no God, then no one designed the human brain and thus, my computer, my house and every building in the city I live in designed itself. People assume all kinds of things, based on self-evidence. Scientists assumed long before there was any explanation of how, that Stonehenge and the pyramids were created; we assume the rain will always stop, a given amount of seeds will produce an approx. yield.
