one time l watched fr my aprt room as a coca-cola semi backing up was in progress.lt was neatly done and quick too.truck was in the warehouse lot in abt 2 mins.then the driver alighted to hand the delivery papers to the guy waiting at the gate.driver took his hat off and man!it was a SHE all along- moving that goliath-of-a-thing.damned meself not able to video the whole episode and l just shook my head in passive salute to that lady driver. move on,girl!!!
if it was only that easy lol. i do local work and you got to worrie about ditch's other dumb ass 4wheels sneeking in when your trying to swing the nose of your truck over. poles, people, ect lol
They should have had some models like that to show folks when I went to the driving school. There were too many people that could not understand the basic principle. Put the rear of the trailer in the end of the hole you need to back into. Then work the front around until you can back all the way in.
Being able to see the whole thing would be a big help. I didn't have any trouble with it myself. I could already back a cotton trailer in between two more, so a 48 foot trailer seemed easy.
Actually this is really good to get the idea in your head. Even my instructors recommended getting a toy truck even though it sounds dumb but it can teach you alot about what your doing wrong.
Fuck man that was one of the reasons I quited driving 18 wheelers the school that I went didnt drill you on that important aspect of backing up the school is CRST and I just became frustrated, otherwise I gess I would be still driving 18 wheelers.
LOL CRST....had a lot of new drivers,,,,we used to call then cedar rapids stunt trucks....saw a lot of their wrecks all over iowa. Ya its hard to find a good school to learn, school only interested in pumping the drivers out. then when they hire NEW drivers they toss 2 of em in a truck and hope for the best. Still think there should be a 3 month apprenticeship. Drive team with an old hand to get more practical experience
How do you know all this about CRST? because you are absolutely right man, they really just use you very lousy company to work for, and the pay is pityfull I was making $400 dollars a week minus all the witholdings ende it up with $260 per week 24 hours inside that CRST trailer, fuck that man.
Unfortunately there are a lot of companies like that out there.we have em in canada too. They provide enough training to get you licenced, give you a few hours of class on logbook/paperwork. Then send you out ready or not (never are). I was lucky when i started, very good school in northern ont, lots of class and wheel time,city and highway.
Wish the industry would have canged more but still a lot of bad apples out there...and that pay,,,,almost criminal that is
Thanks for replaying, what you just described its exactly how CRST operates, now I'm working for a company and make $ 540 a week for eight hour work, get lots of time free go home watch tv and fuck my wife at night.
Haha, pro. This most difficult thing I had to back up was a `76/79 F100 cross pulling a full stock trailer, and I had to back it up to line it's three foot (or so) man-door with a head-gate the same size... but in the open. What you did there, that's pro!
Those NASCAR cars are HUGE !!!!!! :D thanks or the info :D

nice stuff. too many driving schools omit this kind of drill from their programs and expect you to learn it all at once, in a real truck.

I can teach principals that guarantee your understanding how to back up, for free.
basics:
1. do not worry about passenger side, as long as your trailer is in line with the spot ;
2. being slightly at a angle with the spot is ok, unless the spot is really narrow;
3. If area ahead allows, let your trailer as vertical as possible before end of your trailer stick into the opening of the spot;
