With this particular image it doesn't matter how big or small it is. The result of this tutorial is a pattern which means that there are no seams. You can set your youtube background to repeat and it will look good.
@bigtk78 Yes it does matter. (Depending on what you mean)
You need to open the xcf file in gimp and then go to save as and then save as .jpg. You'll find you have 2 files on your computer after that. the xcf and the jpg. You need to upload the jpg. You can keep the xcf around in case you ever want to edit it since it will have all the original layers still there.
@GIMPtricks Itssays save as then I erase the xcf and type jpg. It then says export and some other stuff and I just say ok and if you look at my background I chose a difffernet one I used a template I downloaded. Check out my background please.
If you make a background that's not a pattern then don't put it on repeat. I'd make it 1920 pixels wide and 1500 long. But remember that you can only see the bit in the middle. It's just 1920 pixels wide for people with HUGE screens.
Another great Gimp trick. Thanks for sharing, and as always your accented voice is absolutely beautiful, like music or Christmas bells in that song that has bells in it that makes ones eyes moist when they hear it. Really.
Another great video,Thank you! I have been trying to create a "Realistic Soap Bubble" with little success, would you consider making a Video on that subject at some time. I would really appreciate it as your Video`s are easy for me to follow. Thanks once again .
Hi, can you do a video on how to make the kind of coloured beams of light effect like on the default Windows 7 wallpaper? Thanks. I'm a new subscriber and I am already enjoying your channel a lot!
@GIMPtricks hm... i think tutvid did something similar... but he uses Photoshop... It would be nice if we could do it in GIMP. Thanks anyway... if you figure it out sometime, please make a video.
Thank you for this! It is FANTASTIC!!! Now... hmm - wonder how I could make velvet....

@librano To answer your question, I have no idea if I could. I don't have windows 7, don't know what the beams look like.
