@zwerty007 I made this 4 years ago when I was learning. I might add some French music but when you add music through YouTube they take the adsense revenue!
I adore grey cats! It doesn't matter which of the 'grey' breeds they are, they all share one common trait - they have wonderful dispositions & are smart. I've had a number of Russian Blues & loved them all, but Trey, the kitty we have now is a Chartreux...which I think is my favorite. He's a 23 pound lamb with a kitten voice & is tooo funny.
@zwerty007 well, if you want to get picky about it, so is my Trey...he shines blue but appears to be grey most of the time. I'm not sure where his previous owners got him, but the vet confirmed that with the double coat he definitely was a Chartreux mix. Go to my channel & watch Cool Kitty, cool digs.
I found my cat Smokey (aka Smokey le Chat as he's known to my friends) over 10 years ago, he couldn't have been any older than a couple of months, was really neglected and covered in fleas. He has developed into the most beautiful animal anyone could ask for, good natured and truly a pleasure to have as company. If anyone with a fondness for animals is thinking of getting one of these prestigious cats go ahead as you'll have one of the best pets you could possibly want.
What if my cat is gray, and has white on her neck and stomach and her paws. And she can't meow? And her mother is Full Gray. So she could be a mixed breed with Chartreux.
@tdianddp4life Just because the cat has gray fur doesn't mean she is a purebred Chartreux. Chartreux have round faces with large jowls that are larger in the males, short legs, stocky bodies, woolly fur, and copper eyes. They're known as the smiling cats of France because their narrow muzzles create a smiling appearance.
My grey cat, Bache, looks more like this cat than a Russian Blue or British Shorthair. She just doesn't have the copper eyes, they are green. I know she is a mixed breed, but she must have had a Chartreux ancestor. And she is the sweetest cat...she is the peackeeper of the group. If she hears any of the others arguing she runs over to see what is wrong. It's very rare to see her get angry with the other cats. She is also not afraid of anything, dogs, fireworks, strangers, nothing. I love her!
I have one of these, a female named Blue. The woman I adopted her from said she was a russian blue and that is what my husband always wanted so I went and adopted her for Valentine's a year ago, she had been abused so she was very shy and scared and it took a lot of time and love to get her to even come out of hiding the first few months. And then when I looked up Russian Blues I realized that she was not one. Then I saw the Chartreux online and realized she was even more special. :-)
We have a 14 year old Chartreux and she is one of the most affectionate cats I've ever had. Thanks for the information on this awesome breed!

There are some pictures of Russian blues on here as well. Be careful not to get the korat, russian blue, and chartreux cats confused.
