godamn theses guys suck! .... his voice is one of the most mediocre sounds I have ever heard in my entire life! ... but seriously folks ... this is very average or below average ... you call this punk? WTF ... I probably have one of their records and heard them when I was a kid ... but i have bought a million albums since then that are much better ... and the bottom line is why listen to this 'boring whiny lame ass weak and limp band .... both of my bands kick the shit out of naked ray gun
Naked Raygun is the greatest. I am with all of you- punk saved my life, and I saw them last year at riot fest. 14 years of hype came true, and I could not have been happier. Awesome!
Just saw them tonight, and they were everything that they always were. I was in the pit for most of their set and I can honestly say they made this 33 year old guy feel 17 again. Thanks guys, I needed to remember what that felt like :)
NAKED RAYGUN are the archetypical cult band. They affected all those who were fortunate enough to hear or see or both in Europe or stateside in the mid to late 80s. You think they should have been huge, deservingly so, but then we could not be proud of not missing out like the rest of the world did.
Makes me feel old watching this stuff. I used to bounce off the walls and the ceilings and now I am a stiff middle aged dude barely able to walk. Maybe slam dancing, jumping up and down really fast and jerking my head rapidly and repeatedly wasn't the smartest shit I ever did. My biggest regret is that I can't go out tonight and do it all over again.
dude, it was the smartest thing we ever did. dont cha remember how gay everyone else was not into our music? being a punk , we have that certain foresight that everyone was all trama drama around us and , we saw that life to be enjoyed as a youth, we knew these days were commin, see how lame all the kids are now acting like rapperfags you pull up to a red light and some 22 year old is blarring some hip hop rap shit sung by a chick ,and they think they are living life?
I had a few beers with John Haggerty at Shorty's Underground (Cincinnati, O) before a Pegboy show in like 90-91. I was a huge Naked Raygun fan and he said that most of the songs off this album were tunes that did not make the cut for the previous release "Understand?"
...still a nice song.
Later I worked the door at a place in Columbus, O and ended up talking Pierre Kezdy's ear off while he was selling Pegboy merchandise. I am starting to feel like a stalker...
Cool - his voice really stands out - which is what I look for in bands... And they've got an uplifting sound. Sweet. *goes off to amazon to order some Naked Raygun cd's*
Reminds me a bit of the Pixies (whom I KNOW came after Naked Rayun)
And I'm stumbling home tonight I feel alone and the skies fire I really feel the pain And I just move along wild, not to belong and the pain, God, I really feel the pain Chorus I'm thinking on and on about it I always dream and I don't like it Feeling sad but I can't fight it Home
this reminds me i got in an epic argument with a friend about that being beer that was being splattered on the wall, he said it was paint or milk I was trying to tell him to look at the fucking carbonation foaming up and the fact that its a goddamn punk video, why wouldn't it be beer. big deal sure but this argument went on longer than this video, pausing it many times and pointing at shit
these guys have as long a streak of hit tunes on each LP as any Metallica--talking quality only here--I don't give a rat's ass how disconnected the radio is after cobain
One the great bands, you can't help but believe the world lost out bigtime looking over this band. This is a band that lives in your soul, real rock n roll, one the best ever. Also get the fucking DVD that just came out, worth every bit of it.
I first heard this song in years ago. They have a special place in my mind and heart. If the record industry had any justice attached to it, these men would have been rich stars.
The LP b4 this wus when I fell off--seeing the final real show of them at the Exit in Chi-town while on business. But this LP and Understand (someone said this was the best) I missed. Same tradition of excellence I see.

and by the way these guys were cool, they were accessible, not like today's punk rock wannabe stars who think being cool is looking down on fans.

Here's the last verse:
In a fever I think I'm dead
colored acid webs in my head
Am I sane now?
I just don't feel the same
Dance a twisted scene
to melodies obscene
I think I'll drink now
It's my house anyhow
(CHORUS x2)

It's definitely beer. I took them to an empty lot in NYC where we could break a shitload of bottles and not get hassled.
