Thanks Gromeul. I have a Koch Twintone myself. Great amp with excellent clean tones but the distortion channel is just ok.

I was looking at t Mesa Boogie to get the Santana/Gary Moore type tone but maybe I will look into the Studiotone. Cheers.

Some Les Pauls or notorious for not staying in tune. Particularly when a player bends quite a bit. How does the Elitist perform when it comes to staying in tune. I have an EPI LP Standard and I need to change out my tuners.

Thanks, I heard Grovers where good replacements. I need to get a more expensive guitar soon though. I was thinking of the Les Paul clone that's made by Carvin! Those are some beautiful axes! The only down side is that they make them custom and then ship them to you. So you don't get to play them before you buy! Even worse, you don't get to compare.

I think you hold some of your notes in the middle and at the end of phrases for too long a duration. If you listen and compare to the original I think you'll see what I mean. You need a quicker release on some notes otherwise you will make the phrases drag. In other words, you have too much sustain in the wrong places.

$500,000 will get you a vintage 1959 Les Paul Sunburst. These vintage Les Pauls featured book matched flame maple tops and a unique wiring scheme. They are considered the Holy Grail of Les Paul tone! But you can get close by buying a modern LP w/ a maple top and modding the electronics to 1959 specs. The Elistist or any LP featuring a real maple top give you a better opportunity to make these mods. Common EPIs are 100% mohogany. Plus Tops only have a veneer top. The maple effects the tone!

Gibson VOS Les Pauls are reissues of the 1950's Les Pauls. They feature maple tops, Burst Bucker pickups, and 1959 wiring w/ Bumble Bee capacitors! All this for only $5,000 - $6,000! Instead, you can just get an Elitist so you get the maple! Then you swap out the pickups with a set of Seymour Duncans and wire them up based on a 1959 wiring diagram! 59 wiring gives you better response from your tone nobs and a low pass filter that retains the treble as volume rolls off.

Yes I think you can have a similar sound but it would be closer to the original by changing the pickups, however, I honestly think that sound comes from fingers so work hard this song.

It means that the sound of the note must be same that the one of the 15th fret, don't be afraid, the string won't break if it's a recent one!
