A caption at the bottom of the screen about one third way through says, "Diagnose; krebs". German for "diagnosis, cancer". So it's very unlikely this was just elective. Long ago I had an amputee g/f who had had bone cancer. She said the amputation was a blessed relief from the excruciating pain, that's why this lass seems so cheerful, I guess.
I hope the cancer will be now completly destroied She is a very nice girl !

dude... whatch the beginning again. She was bald, probably because of chemiotherapy. It quite obvious that it was cancer...
