I have a black jazz with maple fretboard :), it plays so smooth,it's very light and beautiful, all my friends are sooo jealous....and the american standard were designed with that "channel", you moron
I want to talk to someone from Fender I wanna know why my Corona California Jazz bass has a hugh channel routed out from the knobs to the pickups exposed wiring and a big hole drilled into the body I wanted to take the scratch plate off I want my money back or a new body.
That's how they were designed on the American Standard so it's easier to change out wiring or pickups. Idiot! It's called a pickguard not a scratch plate.
wow he forgot one of the details about the new all americans only one detail I saw missed anyways. The new models have grooved edges on the neck so it feels more warn in when you buy it new witch is nice. I want one bad to bad I do not have a grand.

Just take the scratch plate off and see the the hole and exposed wiring if you wanna see how Fenders are built now its a disgrace after charging so much money.

its funny how the 'musician' network hires reporters that clearly know NOTHING about the products, if they are even musicians at all.
