I actually live in long beach, right down the street from the real wilson high school where this happened. The campus they use in the movie looks nothing like the real school. haha. its still a great story tho.

As a person who lives in a country where cultures are extremely diverse and more accepted, it was a real eye opener to watch this US film about how some people of different races view each other. But the ending was amazing because they all learnt a valuable lesson, and what makes it even better is that it was based on a true story. It definitely is a great film that needs to be viewed by more people, especially the younger generations.

I watched it...at the first...I thought it was bullshit and a boring movie...but the more longer I watch it...I started to realize,what's life stand for,and I started to cry...the things I had done before,I really felt guilty about it,and I started to watch this movie over and over again,just to learn some moral value...now,Im into a college...trying hard to get into the university...I really thank God that Im lucky to watch this movie...Thanks for posting!

@rex90paradize we watched this movie during testing week and the teacher we had when our main teacher had to leave for short periods of time didnt like the movie at first either. he thought it was a bad movie promoting gang violence and stuff like that. then as he saw more of the movie he understood it more. :)

The thing about how movies like this is that you almost never find a teacher like that. I have been forunate enough to have a few teachers that I truely respect but then I have had teachers who were just there for the money and didn't even care about us. Teachers like that shouldn't even be able to teach children.
