Wow! Thanks so much for this. I had totally forgotten about this wonderful song. Bringing up emotion as it takes me back to a time of being out on the road hitching around North America so filled with hope that we were going to change the whole world into a peaceful one. Never imagined back then that it would take soooooooooooo long.

Hey Spudd, I am an "old fossil". So is Beethoven, Bach, Mozart, and a host of other people. When you point your finger at some one, you have three more pointing right back at yourself, and you sir are a perfect example of this fact. Lighten up "Dude", us fossils stopped a freakin' war.
@24therough I'm hearing 4 beats of C in the verse an 4 beats of a Gm7 or Bb with a C bass. F G C in chorus and then goes to Db and everything goes up one.
I first hear this in 73, right after reading the sunshine Book,Movie Having found this in a 1.00 cutout bin at Woolworth's in Seattle, I cried being so touched by this, and could find no info on them them Til I saw this again in 2007when I Returned back to Canada and learned they were a Canadian Band long disbanded
This song has special meaning for me. My cousin Dennis Will replaced the former pianist in the band just before this song was produced and although my cousin's name didn't make it onto the cover of this album, it should have because it is him on the piano - we were and still are - very proud of him.

I'd been looking for this song for awhile. I grew up near a city not called Ottawa that is a national capital and has an NHL team (or at least has pretended that it does for the past 34 years). I heard this 2 or 3 times on the radio and loved it. But it disappeared, only to be followed up by a really awful song called "Stay Awhile" that was a hit.
