  • thanks for the happy memory of december 1970...heard on CKLW from detroit, in Cleveland

  • l'm barefoot and care free again when l hear this song, there really seemed to be endless possibilities,

  • Wow! Thanks so much for this. I had totally forgotten about this wonderful song. Bringing up emotion as it takes me back to a time of being out on the road hitching around North America so filled with hope that we were going to change the whole world into a peaceful one. Never imagined back then that it would take soooooooooooo long.

  • this isnt such a bad song for you 4bh!

  • @mememoments ..........after all this time i cant believe you are still listening to this............long time no see......how are you going...........that gossip from their '69 bannf holiday can be found at "jenny morris she has to be loved nzoz1989"...........just press "see all" to find the 3 hidden comments. regards.

  • Pretty song.....

  • This band is a bunch of dicks! You can't download their songs. Get over yourself, Bells. You're a bunch of Fuckin' Fossils!

  • @spudd777

You can, just have to poke around and be patient.

  • @spudd777

Hey Spudd, I am an "old fossil". So is Beethoven, Bach, Mozart, and a host of other people. When you point your finger at some one, you have three more pointing right back at yourself, and you sir are a perfect example of this fact. Lighten up "Dude", us fossils stopped a freakin' war.

  • @p70581.....I don't know .....We only had them breaded and deep fried .....Of course with a light Unicorn sauce.

  • Does ANYBODY have the chord progression for this? I have C then F, then I am nowhere near adept enough to figure any of it out.

Anippygirl, wonderful woman, good on ya, Peace ought to be the word of the day.

    Peace is where it's at!

  • @24therough I'm hearing 4 beats of C in the verse an 4 beats of a Gm7 or Bb with a C bass. F G C in chorus and then goes to Db and everything goes up one.

  • I remember this song from years ago! Even though it's so long in the past, I still found myself singing right along with it!

  • I wonder how plucked white dove tastes barbecued?

  • I first hear this in 73, right after reading the sunshine Book,Movie Having found this in a 1.00 cutout bin at Woolworth's in Seattle, I cried being so touched by this, and could find no info on them them Til I saw this again in 2007when I Returned back to Canada and learned they were a Canadian Band long disbanded

  • Nice song but unfortunately it's subject is a pipe dream.

  • This has a "hey Jude" kind of rnding but only enhances this classic canadian hit!

  • Good very good this song

  • I love the Bells!

  • I still think of the Blessed John Paul II when I hear this.

  • I'm glad I'm not the only Canadian to remember The Bells. I even bought last year a "greatest hits" CD. Couldn't believe it was still availabe!

  • AWESOME Song, luvin' these vibes ALOT!!! Thumbs up to ya anippygirl and thankin' my buddy Stewart for the GREAT share! = )

  • This song has special meaning for me. My cousin Dennis Will replaced the former pianist in the band just before this song was produced and although my cousin's name didn't make it onto the cover of this album, it should have because it is him on the piano - we were and still are - very proud of him.

  • @SpellboundOne I believe the former pianist was Frank Mills, if my research is correct.

  • Still makes me think of blessed John Paul II, can see him releasing doves over the Capitol.

  • Ouch!

The last few bars got cut off. Just like listening to AM radio back when this was a hit.

All that's missing is an annoying (or sometimes entertaining) DJ.

    Dominus vobiscum.

  • K-tel super hits, with a case of O Keefe Ale.

  • @Friedtoenails

Crystal beer. What matter. It was a good time.

  • This was the B side on one their singles....the A side was Stay awhile !!!! One of the best .49 cents I spent at Sams downtown, way baaaack in time And yet this song is very tough to find..good for you anippygirl !!!! Maybe Ken Tobias should re-release it

i bet in a couple years it i'll be illegal to drink a coffee and drive

help, let me off this planet !

  • This video is so pretty! I actually

hang a Peace Dove on my Christmas

tree every year. Thanks, see ya bye

  • It's Great. Kids,do you really think your music is any good?

  • this is even better than the version we play on the air. gonna grab it.thx - Charle O

  • Do you have the Bells' "He was me, he was you", and "the Other Side of Me"?

  • There's nothing like the innocent sounding CanCon from that era.

  • Yep, even Anne Murray from back then with her Snowbird song. Of course, Gordon Lightfoot. I love Song for a Winter's Night from The Way I Feel 1967 and of course Lightfoot from 1966. Don't mean to distract from the Bells, though. Great stuff, eh?

  • I so loved this song in 1971 and I hadn't heard it in decades.....what a treat....I love it just as much today, maybe more...thanks for posting.....

  • Man, I had forgotten this song ... love it! Also, love Moody Manitoba Morning by the same group, The Bells. Reminds me why I love Canada.

  • @anippygirl - WOW, I haven't heard this for SOOOOO long. That's awesome, thanks :)

  • I still remember the summer day when this was playing on the car radio as I held a melting popsicle in one hand & hung the other out the window so it could fly along beside me like an aerofoil.

    It was a good day.

    Sunbeam :)

  • Thanks so much Sunbeamxxx! I appreciate your comment and stars! Thank you!

  • I'd been looking for this song for awhile. I grew up near a city not called Ottawa that is a national capital and has an NHL team (or at least has pretended that it does for the past 34 years). I heard this 2 or 3 times on the radio and loved it. But it disappeared, only to be followed up by a really awful song called "Stay Awhile" that was a hit. I always thought it was a travesty that this was not a hit while the other song was. Great to hear this one again.
