  • I saw the movie the first time a couple of days ago by pure “accident”. The best movie I’ve EVER seen and then this video.... Takes a lot to get my emotions running and get me to respond to a movie or clip; but couldn’t help or stop myself in both instances this time. Fantastic and thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • We have to get marriage equality for these kids its the only way we can put an end to this senseless witch hunt on sexuality

  • What an incredibly moving compilation. The soundtrack is perfect! I've watched it many times now, and it moves me every time the way it did the first time. I cried uncontrollably when I watched the movie.

  • This was an absolutely wonderful video, for a wonderful book/movie. Thank you.

Then on Monday I received an email from her and we had some delightful exchanges, where I finally offered to go to Walnut Creek, at take her out for coffee! She sweetly replied, inviting me instead to a "Griffith Family Barbeque" this Sunday! Her son and the breif time he and I had together as boys really, had been on my mind a great deal lately!

  • Next to Brokeback Mountain, this movie CRUSHES me, every time I watch it.

  • How one clever person said:

Youre so much more than youre orientation. It seems hard, because be different is always gonna be what people are scared of it.But the end of the day, If u give them those believes, If you give them the power to affect you... U let them win! You have to be strong, you have to be yourself. WE ARE BELIEVING IN U!

I thing that If everyone will obey of this words, world will be better, because it gets better! It's up to us, cause we are generation of this century :)

  • In a strange way there are parallels between this story and the shooting in AZ. "Before you echo your words of vitriol to hurt and demonize, think and remember. A child is listening."

  • I second those comments written here . You have done a great job. This is by far the best of your video compilations and the best youtube creation related to this movie. I have not seen the movie or read the book, but look forward to doing both.

  • Capulet, I second what the above viewers have written -- You've done a great job! I've yet to see the movie, but look forward to that and to reading the book. I wonder how you reacted to the movie?

  • @Native49953 I thought the movie was really great and powerful. The fact that it was a true story makes a bigger impact on everyone...so hopefully this movie helped save lives and change views. for a lifetime movie, it was top notch. I havent read the book though! But i may borrow it from a friend.

Bobby Griffiths suicide took place more than 27yrs ago, and for most of that time,

if and when I suffered, it was in silence, alone with my saddness or despair. But

my friends, saddness is the option or refuge of children without hope, and I have

been hopeful for some time now! I in this 21st century and a citizen of one of the greatest

republics in recorded history have finished with saddness.

  • @blainebill39 In today's society, many things factor into repressing gay rights and stuff...some government officials do it for power, since they know a majority of the general public is against gay rights. And then there's SOME religious people and groups against them. Not all, but definiitely a lot. Which is quite stupid since God says to love everyone, but some ignore that tiny fact.

  • @capulet777

    Ciao!

Thank you for your gracious reply! I believe however that there is emerging data

that will demonstrate that public attitudes have shifted enormously since the time

Bobby Griffith and I starting dating, almost 30yrs ago! As for politicians, check out

the documentary "Outrage", it lays bare the hypocrisy of politicians who regularly

vote down "pro gay" legislation, while engaging in gay relations themselves! It

pleases me to see you write of a loving god!

    Blaine

  • @blainebill39 I will for sure have to check out that movie! thanks for telling me about it :)

And I agree, there are more people who support gay rights and the number continues to climb than there was back then. But we still have a long ways to go.

  • @capulet777 I'm now just plain, fucking

angry! No actually, I'm enraged!!! Bobbys' suicide has been made "high profile" due

to the book and movie, and I'm glad of it. But why in hell aren't people screaming

at the senseless carnage of bloody September 2010?

  • @capulet777 I want heads to roll! And I

will not accept from public or school officials, "We saw no signs, and had no way of

knowing!". Fuck anyone who dares to claim this! That is unacceptable! I think people in positions of responsibility would

be fortunate if jobs were all they lost, careers should be at stake as well.

  • @capulet777 I'm looking

forward to reading of people being draged into depositions! Bullying, and the denegration

that accompanys it must have real consequences for the perpetrators!

These are of course the names of those children reported in September of 2010

to have taken their own lives after having been bullied for being gay! Disgusting!!!

  • @capulet777

I keep returning to your video montage, I guess because it feels "safe"!

That penetrating look of hopelessness and despair is on Ryan Kelleys face,

and not on the face of my Bobby! Ryans' performance does suspend disbelief

for countless others it would appear! For that, I am truly grateful. To reflect on

the pain that sweet boy endured is quite hard for me! Were I to see a young person

suffer like this today,I would risk much to extricate them from such a situation!

  • i am just like bobby..thank you for this movie..its really nice..the whole story was really almost like me. but i never even think of suicide just like bobby did. but i'm totally confused. i also hate it but i never choose to be like this. its never gonna be our fault. what i ask for to God is He will never leave us in behalf of being a sinner..

  • @capulet777

Thank you for uploading this beautiful piece! That look of sadness and despair

on Ryan Kelleys' sweet face just slays me.Though I have yet to see the movie,

I'm building up the courage to do so. I've even gone so far as to ask a friend

if they'd hold my hand while we watched together. I cared deeply for Bobby,

and if Ryan actually did resemble him, I don't think that I could attempt it!

I've never had the chance to grieve for Bobby. This has been a first step!

    Thanks,

    Blaine

  • Religion = hate. Free your mind.

  • The only real conclusion of such a movie is that religions are bad, bad, bad!

Down with Christianity and its consequences!

  • God, I come back to this video again and again. It tears my heart in two and out soars my spirit. What a powerful message.

  • I hope that this movie can help to change that. Best regards from Serbia.

  • Great video! I cry every time I watch. Excellent choice of music! So sad story but unfortunately so try. People don t realize how life of young gay man is so hard especially in the country s where is intolerance for gay people big. You don t have opportunity to say who you love to other people, to hold his hand in public, etc. I ts like you are in some way in prison and you don t find different way except to kill yours self or live unhappy and abandoned from society for rest of your life.

  • @marcosrbija1 thank you for these words. Very very true.

  • Very well done, Capulet - thank you!

  • capulet777 -- You have captured so much more in this video than the actual movie trailer. So, so powerful!!! You have done a GREAT job. Why isn't this movie out on DVD? I want to buy it so badly. :_( I want to see the movie again. I weep. I weep for all the Bobbies and Maries out there we have lost. Gawd, this tears me apart :_(

  • i have one

    i could give u if u want

  • @816cameron . yes, this powerful video captures the movie's essence. I ordered and received it in the mail today on New Year's eve. It hit me hard with the realization that what I do and say affects others' self-esteem. I am resolving to be better and to not merely stand by in silence. Great job in the movie by Ryan Kelley and Segourney Weaver as well as the producers. I was not even aware of the movie till more than a year after it was shown on t.v. and I shall read the book.

  • Prayers for Bobby will make you weep for humanity. How with all the reasoning used of imaginary beliefs to bring so much hate and pain to gain control of their society and condemn each other. And maybe, just maybe there are some Bobbies out there who will be able to live a full and happy life and bring joy to others, if only the veil of hatred stoked by ignorance can be lifted just ever so little. EVERYONE should see this movie and look within and ask yourself, Where can I change this story?

  • This video is very good. Can you tell me witch is the melody you use? It's very sad!

  • its chevaliers de sangreal from the da vinci code soundtrack
