That seems like an awful lot of faffing about just for some cheap Diesel. On something for the weekend they made it look and sound so simple...just chuck your used kitchen oil in here and you have cheap diesel made the next day...they didn't mention anything about mixing up endless chemicals and turning your house into a lab with test tubes bubbling away and white lab coats etc lol
You do need to check the oil before processing but it is pretty simple. Hands on time per batch is around 15-20mins so not bad for 50-100 litres of cheap and very high quality fuel. All testing kit comes with the pod and is very simple you just need a surface to work on.
Sometimes if glow plugs are on there way out you will have issues with cold starting on biodiesel. With mineral diesel they have little to do so the effect isn't noticeable. We had this issue on a VW Transporter, we changed the glow plugs 3 years ago and its been fine since. You could also try a biodiesel cetane booster which will also help?
sorry meat to say van is new ,i think the glow plugs only come only when its cold ,i will ask fiat when its in for service lol if they even no, i have got some additive well post if it works ,im thinking on making some vid clips to post here so let me no wot you think ,ive learnt a lot in a short time
i have a fpod3.with a 1 micron filter added to the filling pipe and running a fiat doblo multi jet with little problems ,apart when engine is cold." oil is wvo" ,have you any problems starting ?
Unfortunately the DVD was filmed without audio hence the subtitles. We are getting a new basic DVD produced with audio which I will get converted and upload asap. In my garage the compressor is at the back and only runs for an hour when going through the mix cycle then intermittently during purification so no bother. The main thing is its safe, easy to use and the fuel produced is amazing. Would put nothing else in my V10 TDi ;-)
