The things i most respect and love about Lupe is that he stays true to his ideas and beliefs. Now a day most hip hop and rap songs are about getting with girls and making money. Lupe strays from the mainstream path and has created a whole new spectrum of music. The combination of hip hop and folk is something that has been beautifully been pulled off by these two gentlemen and i believe would be difficult for most music artists to pull off now a day. It's two different styles fused in as one. You've got an acoustic folk singer and then you have a hip hop artist. Lupe is a great lyricist and is one of the few artists out today that is still keeping hip hop alive. Matthew santos is amazing too, great voice, great song writer and guitar player. They're both great in their field...no need to bash one over the other. Santos couldn't do what lupe does and lupe can't do what santos does...but they're in for the sake of music
