  • the only song of James Bond that has been number 1

  • please reupload this song with HD audio...the video is great though

  • one of the best bond themes ever

  • Simon kinda looks like Elvis in this.

  • say what you want. The only Bond song to make it to #1 and what Hunks!!!

  • NEVADASHARK!!!

  • SHARK!!!

  • I could just watch Nick's hands play his syths all day!!! <3

  • But Duran Duran made history!!!!!

  • It simply have to be playback in the video, maybe some other have noticed it??? But Duran Duran are a great band although!!

  • is this live or lip singing? Cant tell.. and is it me or the crowd seems dead... this is one of there hottest songs and the audience is barely moving

  • @macksun yeah whats goin on??

  • @macksun I believe the term you're looking for is lip-syncing The singers lips sychnonizing to the pre-recorded audio. American TV made the acts lipsync the lyrics after the Rolling Stones pissed off promoter Ed Sullivan. Mick Jagger promised to sing "Let's spend some time together"....but when the show went 'Live', Mick ssang the original lyric "Let's spend the night together". . . . a taboo of the 60's censors. This peice is lipsynced

  • @ChicagoNeilcon In the eighties every band who performance on tv made playback

  • @macksun i remember watching this particular show on the telly. After Durans performance...they recieved a standing ovation. The only act on this show to recieve that.

  • i love this pretty music

  • This was the life changing performance for me. I remember the night when this aired. I wanted to be Simon. I was 16 and watch the video taped recording everyday before school. Still seems frest after all these years. Thanks Biside for posting this!

  • Esta canciòn fue la que me introdujo al mundo de la mùsica mundial, gracias a mi hermano me llevo a ver la pelicula excelente y el tema ni decir 1985.

  • It's a beautiful day here and I just finished playing their greatest Hits CD in my car with the windows down(blastin this and "Hungry like a wolf"). Of course, I got a lot of looks for it, but I don't care! Duran Duran still rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • my favorite song .))

  • You have to have a amp and a sub in ur car...then crank this song...

  • Simon does his best frontman performance in this video. Musically, this is the best tune from Duran Duran. It was an odd scene. People in their 60's-80's watching 25 yr olds play in 1985. But the old codgers liked it.

  • I believe this was 1985. Good tune. I like the strings in the background.

  • Roger gooses JT, too funny !

  • That was Duke of Edimburg Prince Philip's birthday. Bob Hope was there too, but that's it.

  • this song brings back memorys of one of my favorite movies james bond 007 !

  • Brilliant did nt he look like ELVIS here lol ..

  • Brilliant did nt he look like ELVIS here lol

  • Damm a BAD sound´´wft oploader. Thing before you do something. thx...

  • A great song, and especially a James Bond theme song And I love all genres of rock, blues, whatever. Definitely a great band and the videos were next to none! Does anyone know where this particular performance happened. And what year. Thanks

  • @TheMrMiklee I believe 1985.

  • One of my favourite songs of the 80's !

  • I think this one was lip-sinked his mic moving to his mouth just a little late... watch and listen to this one watch?v=3cKoLo_EagY&

  • I wouldnt mind cus I like Duran Duran, and I luv this song. But he is miming to this song.

  • @RaikenXion ,defo miming without a doubt, still good band tho

  • ahh man he was better with blond hair,im not gay he just look more unique!!!

  • This video was great at the time. I have a VHS copy somwhere. It was for the Queen. You see Bob Hope and The King. Debbie Reynolds introduced them

  • Great camera work for an event of this type ... really adds to this performance. Great stuff!

  • I believe they were on the verge of splitting at this time .. enter Arcadia and Powerstations

  • I think he is lip synching.. He does not need to do that!

  • definately is .. God I wish those pop shows from the 80's would just let them actually perform.

  • Jeez....I too remember when this aired...At a Bob Hope Birthday show....I taped it and wore the damn thing out rewatching it over and over. I always though Simon sorta looked like Elvis during this set...

Dang this brings back memories.....Such a music vid....Still love the band today...

  • Long live Duran Duran !

  • @HermanMulier : Amen to that! =0]

  • @HermanMulier cool but it does not look like

  • Yeah? So? Rock and Roll Baby!

  • yes, 25(and counting) more years

    of "downhill"

  • I want Simon !!!!

  • I remember watching this with my parents who both loved Bob Hope and FREAKED out when they saw that Duran Duran were performing. I was tickled that they got a standing ovation, and loved watching them bow from the waist (I still crack up at that for some reason). I never realized that Roger pinches John...too funny!

  • wow i do remember this very well, still my favo. performance is still the one they did at Montreux same year ... they were at they're height .. and did you notice the fish eye lense? years and years before all the Hip Hop videos .. DD Rocks.

  • so dubbed fuck off

  • Your Point?

  • they sound just like the studio version!

  • It's not live, that's why!

  • Imagine that? could it be.......thats how American tv decides to keep slutty Rock Stars from screwing with American TV censors? That was common practice....

Still an amazing video....you do agree right?

  • where did roger pinch johns ass?

  • Comment removed

  • Brilliant i love Duran Duran, its true just at the end Roger pinches Johns ass.

  • I remember watching this on TV. Wasn't this some celebration for Bob Hope?

  • I remember watching this on TV, and I remember when Roger pinched John's butt at the end :)

  • ha, thanks for the heads up! i never knew roger had it in him...
