Ah, the first spawner. Good times. I remember my first spawner like it was yesterday(no, I don''t But I have a skeleton farm with a spawner so I don''t care:D). And you really did had a reason to be happy right now(at least, most experienced people will admid) because beating your first non-surface spawner is really something special(and they are pretty hard to beat).

there is any tipe of spawner except, creeper gast zombie pigman and i think spider... ther may be spider. you should make a grinder witch makes the mobs in the spawner in verry deep water and they die from drowning. then you put glass walls to see the zombie drowning and you make a spot where the water flows to a focal point where you get all there items. you had the right idea but dig a couple layers so they drowned. WARNING WHEN YOU DO THIS YOU LIKE NEED TO BE ON PEACEFUL

Make a mob trap. At the entrance of the spawner dig down and make a waterfall. I use glass as a barrier if I have it. if not I alternate blocks like a checkerboard so I can see inside. Make a current inside and when they spawn they'll get swept down the waterfall and drown.

You need to be extremely deep to find diamonds. Within 16 layers of the bottom of the map. Lava occurs at layer 10. I usually dig until the second coordinate down reads 12 when I hold F3. Don't destroy the mob spawner. You can use it to make a mob spawner that farms feathers.

Diamonds are found 16 above Bedrock what you should do is make ladders torches and a lot of Stone Picks and drill down until u hit Bedrock Have FUN!

You should make a spawner trap by replacing the wall with glass, except for one on the bottom... leave the water. It makes for a great source of feathers!

You can stop a spawner by lighting the room that it is in. Or you can break it even though it takes a while. Spawners can spawn only 3 mobs, Spiders, Skeletons, and Zombies. Oh, and make sure you dig VERY deep too find diamond.

The spawner depends you seen a zombie because it spawned a zombie if you see a skeleton in the cage it's gonna spawn skeletons etc etc also if you put torches around it then they wont spawn ( i think ) then you can mine the cage :D ( you don't get the cage... )

You just killed 4 or 5 zombies, I think a bucket and some other things, like redstone is a good reward for that. I found a chest with just a single bow once. That was not a good "feeling like Indiana Jones" day. :p

Anyways, we can tell, just looking at your face while you were playing that you enjoyed this episode, killing zombies, and finding new things, and realizing you are a much better player now!
