  • I once saw a Sabathil double with 16' where the soundboard had released from the belly rail AND spine, and the hitchpin liner had pulled away from the double bentside at the treble and bass. The bentside was noticeably rolled in, and the registers (four!) were jammed solid. I don't know the instrument's fate, but I told him it would be a long expensive road to playability.

  • Looks like they went through a tornado!

  • Oh the horror!

  • There is no point to this video.

  • "Busted Harpsichords" may have been a more accurate title...

  • I repair things on my "day job". To me these "horrors" represent challenges to be overcome and not tragedies to be mourned.

The tough part for me would be the wait to play while I'm repairing it.....

  • I know I'm going to have nightmares tonight

  • They will pay for what they have done to this Harpsichord. They will surely be charged with 15 counts of felony aggravated assault on a harpsichord, attempted murder, felony neglect of an instrument. This could also be prosecuted as a hate crime under New York state law. I hope the D.A. throws the livre at em....

  • O...M....G!!!!!!!

  • look like a city after war whit full of corspe

  • Nearly brings a tear to the eye.

  • My God, that was truly a horrible sight to behold:(

  • Sad to see a beautiful instrument waste away.

  • o zgrozo!

  • Oh! por dios!!...que estado el de éste instrumento!, que abandono terrible!, espero que ahora este mejor.

  • How much do you want for this mess?

  • how can we do this to an harpsichord!?

  • ARGH O MY GOD :'( cry

*happy place happy place happy place*

  • Oh the pain! My favorite was the bent gap spacer. Reminds me of my days at the Harpsichord Clearing House.

  • What is this?

  • The video is described fully in the attached text.

  • i love the sound of harpsichords! i want to find a realy cryptic eerie song using all like church organs and harpsichord and stuff--like alice coopers "gail".

im not sure how youd describe that stle of music though. kinda like dracula music! haha.

  • It's like watching a horror movie!

  • Oh my! :( I guess that keeps you busy in repair work. But I'm sure you'd rather be building harpsichords than repairing them. Yes?

  • The field maintenance has become a speciality, and I learn something from every harpsichord I see. I still enjoy building instruments, but probably am able to average about one a year with my travel commitments.
