I work on them. I'm an AT. The avionics in the E-2D will be much better and more advanced than what there is now. A lot of the systems that they have on board aren't even used because they're outdated.
I was an AT, now I fly them. The only system I don't use is the ones that are broken. Each one is capable and "modern" (when it works). The D will be the "most modern" machine on the flight deck for quite a while.
Wow...youre on the Hawkeye...I, until a few months ago, flew on your younger brother the E3. Bet you guys do an incredibly valuable service for the fleet!
