Barrister Syed Ahmed Ashraf was also elected to the Leglslature in Karachi shortly before his death. He was a great grandnephew of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, and son of Syed Muhammed Meer, founder of the Meerut Bar Association. He was a tireless campaigner for Muslims in India and was known to his constituents as "the Tiger of Meerut" for standing up to the Congress Party on the official inquiry into the Garmukteshwar Riots.
Late Mr. Zahid Hussain a man with a string of first to his name was one of the brilliant career holders of Pakistan. Mr. Zahid Hussain remained Vice-Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, he became Pakistan's first High Commissioner in India, the first Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan, the first Chairman of the Planning Commission and the author of Pakistan's first five-year plan.
Late Allama Syed Sulaiman Nadvi was an eminent Pakistani historian, biographer, writer and scholar of Islamic history & religion. He is the author of monumental works, Sirat-un-Nabi (Life of Holy Prophet) and Khutbat-e-Madras. After partition of India, Syed Sulaiman Nadvi migrated to Pakistan in June 1950 and settled in Karachi. He was appointed Chairman of Taleemat-e-Islami Board to advise the Islamic aspects of Pakistan's constitution.
Late Allama Shabbir Ahmed Usmani was one of the greatest freedom leaders for Pakistan. The funeral of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was done in his Imamat. Allama Saheb was one of those few Deoband Alims who fought for the establishment of Pakistan. He was the Founder President of Jamiat-ul- Ulama-e-Islam (1946), which most effectively counteracted the anti- Pakistan Movement propaganda and activities led by Maulana Abu Kalam Azads pro-Congress Jamiat-ul-Ulamai Hind.
Quaid-e-Taleem Mr. A. M. Qureshi introduced in Karachi the Qureshi Night College, and this night college was the first of its kind in Pakistan to bring quality education within easy reach of the employee-students who had previously not been able to pursue academic degrees due to the fact that they were working full time jobs during the day.
