This is footage from one of the morning news shows in Japan where they're showing a bit of the making of the commercial. The guy who plays Mario is Inagaki Goro from famous pop group "SMAP".

It took them 2 hours in make-up to add the nose and all other bits to make him look like Mario.

In the commercial he goes "Speed is a guy's romance. Race is my life". Meanwhile, the drive-thru girl is going "Sir (customer). Sir! Sir!"

He says that it's truly an honor to have gotten that role.

The female voice says that the make-up took two hours (and some stuff that I'm not sure about, but it's something about the nose). ^^
