did anybody ever come up with living a normal live (involving moving their bodies and eating real food)? I know this sounds radical if not impossible, but it might be worth trying. or try methamphetamine, this will actually help, with sideeffects not worse than these diets or legal weightloss pills...
this girl would have had to be retarded to not know only eating 500 calories is bad for you..she must have been hungry all the time.. and any person of average intelligence knows taking laxatives is terrible for your insides.
Do a bit more research. The people who join this website can deteriorate into anorexia, and so they don't think about the implications on their bodies. 'Kimmer' was publishing 'true facts' about laxatives, and as these people are believeing that the diet is legit, they're believing it.
uh fuck you? i did research it and im aware how anorexia works.. im not rewatching this but the girl was acting as if she had no clue 500 calories was too little when its common sense.. my comment was too old to have a reply as i have forgotten about this shit already since its been over a month. if you reply with your unwanted comment i wont reply because i dont care about this and would have to rewatch this shit
You don't need carbs per se, since you can make glucose out of protein. But it is INSANITY to go too low fat! It damages your brain and organs like nothing else!
Allow me to disagree. And let me write in advance that my mother language is NOT English, so that you are forgiving of my mistakes.
Besides the technicallity you mention about proteins being converted into glucose is the fact that human beings' evolution has been based on a diet where carbs have been present. We may not know what the absence of carbs in the diet does to us, but nobody can be certain that we need no carbs.
And the moral of the story is? I mean what changed. The scam has not started, the scam is just rippling from the original splash since diet inception.
A coworker told me about the Kimkins diet, and gave me access via her account to take a look around. I immediately saw after reading the "plan" and food lists that this is a dangerous diet. Any diet that tells you to basically eliminate an entire food group is basically a starvation diet. If you have problems controlling your portions & having a normal relationship with food, perhaps professional counseling is in order. Otherwise, lose weight the good ole fashion way--exercise & moderation!
I lost about 6 pounds since I stopped exercise. I'm told that it may be that the type of exercise, plyometrics, was wrong for me. It put so much stress on my body that it had to create cortisol that stored the calories as fat. Just a theory. I might as well stick to an one-hour brisk walk a day.
Consume most of your carbs before noon DO NOT try to eliminate carbs. Eat sensible proportions of your foods (not pigging out) and spread them to about 6 a day. Any food after noon time should be normal but lean towards meats/chicken/fish/tuna etc. and veggies, salads etc. (many green veggies too) Drink a Green or Oolong Tea in the morning and evening and continue exercising as you were... YOU WILL LOOSE WEIGHT! and continue to be in a good, healthy state and not be hungry. That's it! Try it.
One last thing. Don't get an expensive Oolong or Green tea product sold online. Just go to an Asian food store and get some the same way any NORMAL person would. You should not have to spend hundreds of dollars for your daily tea. Eating carbs in the day gives your body time to start using them before the evening when your body is ready for a slowing, resting state. When it rejuvenates it will continue burning carbs and using proteins and nutrients from the foods you eat in the evening.
Keep your workouts brief and intense, under 45 minutes and your cortisol shouldn't kick up so much. Also, make sure to get as much sleep as you possibly can. De-stressing also helps lower cortisol, as well as reducing caffeine/stimulant intake.
That is not true, punkmonkey123. You need more than 1200 a day to function properly. 1200 is the set point for a 5' tall full grown adult to just -survive-, let alone thrive.
Years ago, I did the atkins plan and 'Kimmer' use to post on a low carb forum! She had a cult following on the site and was always giving advice. I never paid much attention to her and didn't know she had her own weight loss site as well. WOW!
dietary expertise my ass... you know what most of your guys is problems is? not fucking drinking red wine and exercising... i mean come on... and then you might say its hard? well if you would eat right in the irst place maybe you wouldnt be fat...
I try to mimic a hunter gatherer diet. Eating high fat, adequate protein, low carb, while trying to keep the food as natural as possible, and without calorie restriction. This is what works best for me.
You're right, Mr. Radaikon! But sadly there have been tens of thousands of people who have fallen prey to this weight loss scam and are getting hurt by it, too. Hopefully this national exposure will warn others before it's too late.
It's a good thing I study health and wellness so I'm fortunate enough to know better. I have friends that have tried to go to extremes to lose weight and always yell at them about it. Grahm crakers and slim fast does not a balanced meal make.
THANKS for your comments shmalfie! I appreciate your concern, but I have done plenty of research on the low-carb lifestyle and have all the confidence in the world that it is the healthiest nutritional approach for me to be following. Read GOOD CALORIES, BAD CALORIES by Gary Taubes to find out why. :)
Actually, I think they did a good job of distinguishing the difference between Kimkins and Atkins--the former is an ultra-low-fat/low-calorie/low-carb diet and the latter is the REAL low-carb diet that contains plenty of fat and does not count calories.
Thanks for posting this Jimmy. I had never heard of this S.N.A.T.T. my God it's so wrong. My hope is that the Atkins diet doesn't get associated with this crap as 'Atkins' is often mentioned is the same sentence as 'Kimkins' as we've seen here.
While Atkins is nowhere near as dangerous as this, it's not the healthiest way to lose weight.
Research shows that the high bad fat content of the Atkins diet causes an increase in cholesterol and fatty tissue building up around the heart, effectively increasing the likelihood of heart attack. Robert Atkins, the founder of the Atkins diet developed a severe heart condition and had a heart attack in 2002....
...You should never deny yourself a whole food group or the cravings will come back to bite you. Sugars and starches (Carbs)are converted into glucose, which is the form of energy that is most needed and used by the brain and nervous system.
The Atkins diet it is expecially poor for maintaining weight loss. Approximately 98% of those who lose a significant amount of weight on the Atkins diet will gain at least 95% of it back within 4 years. Many will gain more.
Well naturally I disagree with that. Healthy debate is good though so I respect your viewpoint. I think Atkins is very healthy. A whole food group is not denied, its restricted in the early part and increased until you find your own tolerance to carbs, that could be 200 grams a day for some people.
With all due respect, those stats can be extended across every weight loss plan/diet out there. Like Joy Nash says in her fat rant, "Success is pretty much a freak occurrence!" All I know is I feel pretty good with a high complex carb breakfast in the morning, and low carbs for the evening. Though if I happen to be doing a triathlon in the morning, it'll be pasta for dinner the night before. :-)
The research I've read suggests that carbohydrate is responsible for fatty tissue around the heart not saturated fat. Look up Atkins' death, what you are implying is not true. Of course people will gain back their weight if they permanently go above their personal carb tolerance level. Atkins is not a fad, it's a lifestyle choice. One that sheds fat and IMPROVES health.
I never said Atkins died from a heart attack, I just said he had one (which he did) in 2002.
Carbs are simply not the cause of fatty tissue buildup around the heart - unless people are eating carbs to excess and not burning it off and it's being converted to fat, as all energy can be. There may be some research to suggest this, but there is a whole lot more that suggests it doesn't, if you eat a healthy level of carbs.
You can give me "thumbs down" all you like, the truth hurts.

shmalfie is right...That is me all over , i was delighted to lose 45 lbs with the Atkins diet but then out of nowhere i started getting ridiculous carb cravings and other side effects. Result- I put it all back on and an extra few pounds on top. So i am now in process of shifting it through sensible eating and exercise..
Someone once recommended Kimkins as well - really glad i ignored them, this diet is madness!!
