08 Stage 2 GTI mkV vs 02 WRX Stage 3

it's all about useable power. i used to have a 2.0L wrx with a vf34 and races always turned out like this with gtis. now that i have a 2009 wrx aka 2.5L the power right after tuning etc... greatly increased to the left and it's not even a contest against my friends gti with same mods anymore. all about useable power, not peak.

@WaSupKen How is it not. You can see the shifts in the WRX and every shift is good, same with the GTI. Don't be a fan boy and accept it. And its not like the GTI is keeping up with it the whole time.

@WaSupKen What you see people mixing up a lot of times is a stg3 wrx vs sti. The wrx is fast but its not as people make it out to be. My other friend had a basic bolt on STI vs this wrx and they were right next to eachother. Sometimes the STI would be in front. Again, Stg3 wrx aren't as fast as people are making them out to be.

@KoukiR I don't know much about the older WRX models but supposedly the newer WRX models are actually faster than the newer STIs. Someone I know has a WRX and if you're right about how they're not as fast as people make them to be, I'll race him in a 1/8 mile after I upgrade to stage 2 on my GTI.

for the gti owner... im serious as long as your car has a chip... doesnt matter 100 octane or 91.. next time you race this car, use the best any brand... but the best octance booster from (craigon, or auto zone....pepp boyz ect... put the intire thing in your tank ) i guarantee you ull be right next to that wrx if not beat it!!!!! try it 1st then comment....

@KoukiR no the dsg responds faster. with the stage 2 HPA DSG reflash :). but think about it the 18G is a big turbo compared to the K03. if the gti had the S3/K04 Turbo the WRX would be destroyed

mines just a 2.0L as well, tuned gti's are monsters on the highway. all he had was a apr tune downpipe and forge dv. he MAY have been running the 100oct mode not sure. we did 4-5 rolls he had me go down to 3rd that was my worst lost, just his instant power killed me. did 4th gear pulls and he just put lengths on me easily. really need my 09 wrx now.

i believe it. i put down 280whp and i raced the same exact car. even stopped at a gas station to talk to the guy cause i couldn't believe it. probably around the same speeds as here. he put 2-3 car lengths on me easily. now i'm on crappy winter gas and it's cold out compared to my summer tune but still. the gti is better geared on the highway and no lag. just instant power. i have a vf48 which isn't exactly and highway turbo but i was VERY impressed by the gti just at stage 2. need my 09 wrx ha

You sure the GTI is 2+? It dies at higher RPMs, indicating that it probably doesn't have an upgraded HPFP.

Yea its stage2+ but it doesn't have the FP. The guy who put it on said he was going to stage2+ it cuz it would be a pointless to do stage 2 then get FP and come back and drop more money and do it stage2+. He got it on the APR special day so it was cheaper.

your mistake is that you have apr sofware,i have revo stge 2 and i beat every single apr with same mods and in some cases even with more mods than mine i have the vid!!!!revo has way better top end especially after 3rd gear were your losing to this wrx
