It's tough to reason with people who are utterly uneducated and steeped in superstition...which is the case for the vast majority of muslims in the world today.
I was opposed to the invasion of Iraq, but I have to admit, the best long-term hope for changing the course of muslim's worldview is to implement democracy. Let's hope (unlike too many Dems) that democracy takes root in Iraq and eventually spreads. I doubt it will happend, but I still have hope.
I disagree. Throughout the non-Islamic world where Islam is allowed to be practiced Muslims strive to implement ShariaAllah both through incremental democratic means and by force. When a dictator is removed forcibly from Islamic lands and they are given the opportunity to establish a new form of govt they do so not on the premise of Individual rights of which they have no concept but on the basis of Sharia. We have seen this in Iraq and Afghanistan. Islam allows only for the tyrany of Sharia.
Indeed. In Algeria in the early 90s, the main Islamic party, FIS, said that if they won, they would abolish democracy because "God would be ruling". Islam and tyranny go hand in hand. Democracy can be a terrible thing, and the last thing we need is democracy in the Middle East.

Good: Spencer saying ideological dimensions of conflict being neglected, and Eldad saying disease has been misdiagnosed. This vid shows the problem, & therefore suggests why public & governmental awareness-raising must be preliminary part of solution, must be part of national security, WOT strategy.

I wonder if G.W. got hit by the shoes, if his response would have been the same.
