When an album is made that THE ARTIST wrote and is actually good then maybe ppl will lay off him. cant be cocky and cant stand on your own lyrics.

Making a lot of albums doesn't make you good. Look at Plies. He has more major releases in the last five years than a lot of guys. That doesn't make him that "special". It's how memorable your album is that makes you special. He can make a hundred albums in the next five years, but if nobody can remember the titles, what did he accomplish? I bet the average rap fan can't name 5 Bow Wow albums off the top of their heads, but mostly all of them know every one they loved 20 years ago. Not "hating".

this may be his seventh album.but it only sold 28000 copies, that says a lot.. and the first 4 albums were where someone took a cute lil boy, put him in the studio and told him to read the lyrics into the microphone, thats not artistry. and he's extremeley cocky.. people appreciate a person that is humble and appreciates success. you have to do more than just "put out" multiple albums, you have to reach the people and he is no longer doing that.

Man, I've watched Bow Wow since he first started out in the game. I watched dude grow up in the industry actually. I mean for me, he was good when I was younger. I have about 6/7 of his albums (I will be getting the one he releases) He's definitely not my favorite any more, but he is someone to watch or continue to watch in the game. Personally, I never was a Bow Wow fan as to buy his albums or go to his shows, but I have a lot of respect for him as an artist. Longevity has to be respected in anything. but he does have other projects, beside co-producing other artist for his own record label "LBW" and his current project is to open a sneaker store, he has his own brand sneakers coming out, he acts (even tyrese has been making good money in that), endorsement deal, and an activist. He's been in the game since he was like 9, hes had more than enough time to branch out and do other things. He still has money so he's made good investments and is still able to bring out albums.
Yeah...but you should also know that very few of the co-producing makes much money..depending on how well the artistes do. It worked out for Akon but most people sign duds. As for his sneakers..he ain't Jordan and he ain't Kanye...it won't do very well.
but obviously he's been doing things right to still be able to "brag" about the money he has...the sneaker thing i agree with b/c its not original & hes not jordan (iono ytf u mentioned kanye...he aint gonna do well with that) but no one knows if he has actually went to college, or has a degree (JD should let us know). other than that, just b/c the co-producer's artist aren't mainstream doesnt mean they r a dud...different states have their own music and support their local artists alot as well.
I agree that states support their artistes...but hear this...rappers brag about their money ALL the time. Doesn't mean they really have much in savings. Bow could be coasting on fumes right now....but blinging just the same. Kanye has the reach and power in music that he has...because his mom was a college professor and raised with a lot of education and exposure.Bowwow didn't have that.
i highly doubt that Kanye's mother being a professor had anything to do with him branching out and making a mark for himself in the music industry, he didnt even finish his education until after she died (may she RIP)...a degree is only something to fall back on when all else fails and nothing has failed for bow. He had JD to expose him to all that he needed to know in the industry, bow getting a degree does not mean he will b successful within the industry,
half the college grads dont even get a job in their desired field! overall it really depends on the person themself b/c look at Kanye, to bring out his sneakers and learn the in's and out's of the game he did an internship with LV, which obviously didnt help most likeley b/c he got big headed. he bought out sneaks for more than 1000 bucks each. Even with an education, Kanye hasnt learned that the only time u can price ur merchandise that high, is when u build the prestige for them.
I understand that bow wow has 7 albums and he is very successful and I applaud any young black man getting money and be successful but at the same time I wonder how much of his material he actually writes? In the past I may have been a little presumptuous in assuming that bow wow does not right any of is own rhymes. So if JD or Bow Wow could answer this question how much does bow write in his albums in comparison to other artist in his genre. Please Respond

Making a lot of albums doesn't make you good. Look at Plies. He has more major releases in the last five years than a lot of guys. That doesn't make him that "special". It's how memorable your album is that makes you special. He can make a hundred albums in the next five years, but if nobody can remember the titles, what did he accomplish? I bet the average rap fan can't name 5 Bow Wow albums off the top of their heads, but mostly all of them know every one they loved 20 years ago. Not "hating".

this may be his seventh album.but it only sold 28000 copies, that says a lot.. and the first 4 albums were where someone took a cute lil boy, put him in the studio and told him to read the lyrics into the microphone, thats not artistry. and he's extremeley cocky.. people appreciate a person that is humble and appreciates success. you have to do more than just "put out" multiple albums, you have to reach the people and he is no longer doing that.

Man, I've watched Bow Wow since he first started out in the game. I watched dude grow up in the industry actually. I mean for me, he was good when I was younger. I have about 6/7 of his albums (I will be getting the one he releases) He's definitely not my favorite any more, but he is someone to watch or continue to watch in the game. JD, I'm 42 years old and I like Bow Wow. The other day me and my kids watched "Roll Bounce". I really enjoy watch this young talented men on the TV. Like you said, he's only 22 and he has done a great deal behind the scene for the people. When he was on TV for the Obamas, I was proud of him because the 1st Lady reconized his talents and his compassion. Personally, I never was a Bow Wow fan as to buy his albums or go to his shows, but I have a lot of respect for him as an artist. Longevity has to be respected in anything. And he is definitely a star. No one can sit up here and say they knew Bow Wow would be 7 albums in at 22. Most "kid or teen acts" don't get to the second album. I can't even classify him as an act anymore he's up there with Michael Jackson, Usher, and LL. He's the truth!

but he does have other projects, beside co-producing other artist for his own record label "LBW" and his current project is to open a sneaker store, he has his own brand sneakers coming out, he acts (even tyrese has been making good money in that), endorsement deal, and an activist. He's been in the game since he was like 9, hes had more than enough time to branch out and do other things. He still has money so he's made good investments and is still able to bring out albums.

Yeah...but you should also know that very few of the co-producing makes much money..depending on how well the artistes do. It worked out for Akon but most people sign duds. As for his sneakers..he ain't Jordan and he ain't Kanye...it won't do very well.

Bow could be coasting on fumes right now....but blinging just the same. Kanye has the reach and power in music that he has...because his mom was a college professor and raised with a lot of education and exposure.Bowwow didn't have that.
