why dont you just light it from under neith that will work

this works through shadow recognition

the webcam reads your hand shadow

so any excess shadows like your head or arm will interfere

Like it was said previously, it's based upon shadow recognition. The light has to be from above, and your fingertips prevent the light from shining through to the camera. Putting the light under the camera, shining up onto the paper won't work. Your fingers won't make any shadows.

I'm not sure, but you could try to look for a driver on google. Is that a digital camera? if so then i remember reading something about remote something that will allow you to use it as a webcam.

well you need some camera that will show on your computer because the program transfers the VIDEO into the mouse movement.

videos working for me today for some reason.

Built mine last week

get a camera with good fps & light pick up as my Logitech QuickCam Express works only with a Lot of light. A halo lamp is needed to kill shadows from one direction. I have it working however so even basic cams will work. I still cannot get more than 1/4 of the screen as touch sencitive, Also make sure you have java 1.6 for java demos to work.

This will work and is good intro to it before you move to IR box or projector method

MTmini. Its what you need to convert the image of the webcam into the mouse movement. Don't worry. it's virus free and won't mess your system up. Mine is fine =]

any webcam, but ones with a better fps will work better because the movement will be smoother.

you can but it might be hard to press down on since its so thin. The clear surface is really just for support.

You need to use something that is clear but sturdy to. The sturdiness is so you have something to actually move your fingers over without the paper ripping. That way you have something to put your hands on and the webcam can see through the clear material and see the shadow of your fingers on the paper, and it then transfers it into the mouse moving =]
