Got nothing? I don't think it got anywhere near top speed... @ 210 it was still pulling strong, and plenty more revs to go before it hit the 7,250rpm rev limit.
A lot of cars are electronically limited (governed) to the highest speed the tires will survive from the factory. EX: Our GMC Jimmy is limited at 100 mph, even though it's got the guts to keep going. Guess instead of actually limiting the speed, Infinity puts in the alarm at 100mph/160kph.
Hmmm that's very interesting. I'm in the US and drive a Q45, and I'm curious to know if mine beeps also. I did the math, and your 165 Kph is my 100 Mph, that's when it seems to start beeping. It seems to beep faster at your 210Kph (my 130 mph). But i think US cars are limited at 128 Mph, but either way, I must look into this, at least for some laughs. By the way, is it the same beep as when you have the key in and the door open?
its a speed limit control that is in place in most japanese cars that are made and driven in japan. its common in japan. not sure how to disable it but its not abnormal there.
No, over 160, the accelerator is released, dropping the revs to around 1,500rpm while coasting, but the alarm still rings. Redline is at 7,200rpm in the infiniti, and I wasn't getting close to that at any stage.
too slow !!

wow that things fast.
andrew190e 2 years ago
In the US the q45 doesn't make that noise because I have gone over 100mph in my 1990 and no noise
yiannit93 2 years ago
You have to remember that mine was a JDM car, and their speed limit is 180 km/h. Maybe it's a japanese only addition to the car?
ozzie5163 2 years ago
160 is kind of useless alert when you're all ready going way past speed limit. Can't you set it?

couldn't it be turned off?

suppesedly, top speed is a little over 250kmh, and from what i've seen, that seems about right, with a given amount of room.
accordv6er 2 years ago
MY 180SX did the same thing. right Ozzie? lol you should take it up to 240 next time. wait...do you still have the Q?
GMerc 3 years ago

My Dad's Toyota Crown had the same thing at 150 and at 200 KMH but instead of a beep it was like a little bell.

Thanks, joined NICO. buying a NICO ECU, I wonder if the new ecu will remove the speed alert?? Curious. We might have to put it to the test

My speed isn't limited at all. It runs an Impul ECU, and clearly goes past the mandatory factory 180km/h setting for a J-spec car

Maybe its alarm for your revs being to high. Does it get near the red when your at that speed?

sounds like when you turn the key to the on position

Yeah, I agree... but it's strange that it rings faster the quicker you go.
