I just bought the 13 MackBook Pro at best buy for $1.199.95

it came with 4G RAM 250g HD with back lit keys and now there is no battery cover anymore it's all a one piece back cover with 8 screws showing

the first thing I installed was Windows 7 as the second OS

@deago1297 It depends what you want to do with it. If you want to make videos go with the pro. If it is for web pages, writing papers and such go with the Air unless you need more storage, then a normal white macbook will be fine.

i have a quick question...i have the 2007 white macbook. it is kind of running slow these days and I really would like at some time to get a new macbook pro. I listed my white macbook on craigslist and someone offered me $550 and so then a new one would be about $600. Is it worth it? Is there that much of a difference that I would notice? Thanks!

@davemann1017 That depends what you want to do with it. If you are looking to do videos or music creation you should see an advantage. If you just want to upgrade to upgrade then you will probably not notice much difference except in the graphics department where things like scrolling in iPhoto would be faster.

How's the screen on the MacBook Aluminum? I'm aware that the screen on the MacBook Pro 13" is better than the non pro one but is the difference really significant or is the MacBook Aluminum screen live-able? Do you think the screen for the non pro Aluminum is good enough for some non-professional photo editing like in iPhoto or Picasa? Thanks

When it first came out the Aluminum body macbook was called macbook but now they changed the whole range to be called Macbook Pro and the white one only to be in the Macbook range I wonder if they gonna make a black version soon.

I cannot understand where did the macbook aluminium came from! It's not sold on the apple store, they just have the polycarbonate version :O Did they quit the aluminium and instead replaced with much better polycarbonate just to make it 240 $ cheaper?

@legnaleama When the unibody design was first released there was the original polycarbonite, the new aluminum 13 inch unibody macbook and the 15 and 17inch macbook pro. About 6 months later they made all aluminum unibody MacBooks have the name Pro attached to it. They then made a unibody polycarbonite MacBook. So the first 6 months of Aluminum Unibody MacBooks do not have the Pro name if they are 13 inches. They also have removable batteries unlike the newer ones.

no it wasnt... i have the new macbook pro 13 inch and theres tons of differences between mine and yours, besides graphics and better gamma display, its a macbook pro...with illuminated key board and upgrade able ram to 8gigs which on yours is only limited to 4gb. so your wrong there, dont try to confuse a macbook aluminum with a macbook PRO. thanks

for the most part it was. The aluminum macbook and macbook pro both have core 2 duo processors. They have the SAME video card/chip which is the 9400M. Yes you can upgrade the new ones to 8GB of ram, but prior to the new line you could not on the pros. As far as the keyboard goes. You could get it with or without backlighting depending on which oine you got. SO the real differences are the extra ram capability and gamma on the display.

and the inbuilt battery and the better gamma lcd display and the proximity sensors...and the keyboard and the sd card slots ..and the new firewire ports etc...and the inbuilt mic and yadda yadda yadda list goes on....theres a reason its a 13 inch macbook pro geddit? watch the keynote when they introduce it....its not a friggin "macbook" renamed so get your facts right and the processers are different...urs came with a 2.1ghz or smethng and a 2.4ghz. mines a 2.53ghz and the other is 2.26 geddit?

I had a white MB for a year and then sold it for a 13 macbook pro.. I love both of them, but I must hand it off to the MBP, it has a solid feel to it, the led display is amazing and the trackpad and keyboard make a substantial difference in the look and feel of the computer, the difference is only 200 dollars now and i would highly recommend the 13 inch MBP, the white macbook is very outdated and I think is going to be replaced soon, but if u cant spare the 200 get the white! both great comps

i own a 2.4ghz aluminum macbook and i think i must be the only one that feels this way but i can't stand to use it because the trackpad drives me insane every time i try to use it and it's not trackpads that dirve me insane i have a 2yr old gateway laptop with just a standard black trackpad and i can use it for hours with no problem if anyone has a solution to how i can make my macbooks trackpad more like my gateways please reply to my comment or message me

aluminium warps and can be dented easily... and polycarbonate is more resistant but brittle easily under extreme impact.

but aluminium has an "I'm expensive" look...

I had the white macbook and just got the aluminum 13inch macbook pro, I must say I like it a lot better, the led screen is amazing and nothing beats the trackpad also the 7 hour battery help in school when im not always by a changer, they also reintroduced firewire and added an sd slot which will make the people who need firewire happy. Anyone looking for a new laptop definitely go with the aluminum it is worth the extra money

i think what steph103... is trying to say is that they are up grading the white polycarbonates to higher GHz's ram and even hd space. check out the apple website, i think they are selling the white macbooks for 999 and it already comes with 500 gb hd, 2 or 4 gb ram and 2.13 ghz, its good for the price but i still like the alumin better, more "green" and has a proffecional look to it

I'd prefer the white one, since it doesn't have a damn glass layer covering the screen. I've seen them both right next to each other in an apple store and the screen of the white one was much nicer because it didn't have as many reflexions as the unibody macbook even though it is not as bright.

you don't have to buy anything else. The MacBook uses a standard wireless b/g/n and will work with all wireless routers.
