  • sad to say that a brother of mine died after operation in the year 2000...he left his 2 children now are teenagers.

  • I lost my mother 1 year ago for GBM... after surgery she left after 6 months! God bless you!

  • Glio is always a grade four. To survive like you have is great news.

  • My grandpa who I never met Sadly died of Brain tumour :( I worry that my dad might have it.. He has the symptons! :'(

  • @KroozinFX If you truly feel he has the symptoms then he needs to get a CT Scan ("cat scan"). Affirmation is difficult to say the least, but he can't fight it if he doesn't know he has it! God bless

  • you are so great

    God bless you

  • Being diagnosed with the GBM does not mean life is over! The doctors told me I would die within a year and it's been 11 years since my first GBM brain surgery. I'm still alive and loving life. I put together a web page hoping to encourage and provide info for people diagnosed with brain tumors. Hope it helps your friend. Google "Cheryl Broyles GBM brain tumor" and you will find it. She can contact me through my web page and I'll cheer her on! 11 year GBM survivor - Cheryl

  • @cherylbroyles GBM doesn't mean life is over, but also one wouldn't want to promote false sense of hope. Your example is a very rare case of extended life after diagnosis of GBM. David Bailey, the famed singer who had GBM died about 13 years after diagnosis. He did die of GBM at the end after multiple recurrence. My mother had GBM and died 1.5 years after diagnosis. While there is some chance of longer life after GBM, it is exceedingly rare and in something like 99% of cases, you die in 2 yrs

  • @thihal123 Great info about the stats all in one fell swoop. I relate to you.

  • My friend is diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme. she is 18. is there any hope for her? ; ( doctor said she had like 10-12 months to live after therapy...please help.

  • @AznStatusFtw Facing something like this will make you an emotional pillar for someone else faced with the same thing. Hang in there.

  • @AznStatusFtw I'm so sorry about your friend, I know it's hard. Watch the Burzynski Movie, or at least some clips of it on youtube. It may be an idea.

  • was it a grade 3 tumor?

  • @slowep6 Glioblastoma Multiforme is a grade 4 brain tumor. What is called Anaplastic Astrocytoma is a grade 3 type of glioma brain tumor. Hope you don't have one yourself! If so, keep up the fight! God bless, Cheryl Broyles 11 year GBM survivor

  • @cherylbroyles

yes I have Anaplastic Astrocytoma is a grade 3, but I already had surgery.

I am almost done with radiation, after that i will do chemo

  • @slowep6

Hope all is going well. I'm assuming you are going on Temodar? I went through radiation in 2000, and was on Temodar twice (2004 & 2007), over 3 years. Not too bad. I put together a "brain tumor friends" group on Facebook. Great for communicating with others battling brain tumors. If you want to join, find me on Facebook (cheryl broyles) and I will add you to the group. I also put together a web page to encourage others with brain tumors. God Bless, Cheryl

  • @cherylbroyles

YEs temodar, my Doctor told me is the best one right now, =)

  • God bless you...

  • you are soooo amazing
