nevermind i figured it out, i watched other ppl's vids as well.. you need to change the bandwidth to around 552.. then it worked for me.. =/ thanks for not helping me anyway.. lmao

I tried re-doing everything again, there's still an error.. I downloaded the correct .psw file and created a new custom version of it, restored it with that file and error again..

for the first part of the builder, under application, you had two options 1) cydia and 2) youtube.. when I installed mine, there were 3, the third was "installer 2.0".. what is there that extra option. I tried installing it without clicking it, and without, and there is no difference.. help please =(

hey i followed the instructions and at the end when I was restoring it with shift+clicking it on itunes, an error occured, and my iphone screen just says to plug in and the shows the image of the itunes logo, even though its already pluged in. I unpluged it and repluged it again, doing the hold power + home button thing again and now my iphone 3g just has a black screen now, I can't tell if its on or not, but when its plugged in, my computer says its plugged, but my screen is still black

I had the same prob... took about 4-5 time re- doing the reset (hold top and home button) sometimes it was apple logo sometimes usb to iTunes ect.. eventually it worked. Idunno why this was, but I was about to throw my iPhone against the wall... DON'T GIVE UP! It will work just dunno why not on the first time like in the vid... maybe because of 2.0.1?!?

Also, when I first created the new IPSW i don't see the "Successfully created IPSW" it just close the winpwn.

This jailbreak shouldn't conflict with iTunes or the app store. They both worked fine on my phone.

Jailbreaking = able to install third party programs that's not distributed by apple.

Unlocking = lets you use use other company's sim cards. eg. You can use t-mobile's sim card in the US instead of at&t

you can always terminate it and pay the 175 after 30days. Because after 30 days, you don;t have to give them the equipment back. Still way cheaper than getting from places like ebay.

U can upload the original .psw back it in to make it original again. But of course u can't use your t-mobile card. I think the only way to unlock the 3g now is thru these brazillian guys(google them). But basically, yea, for now it's like impossible to unlock the iphone 3g.

Try downloading the .psw file again, maybe the one you downloaded was corrupted. Also, make sure you got the right file, the 2G and 3G files are different. Hope this helps.

T-mobile on a iPhone 3G? this program does not unlock iPhone 3Gs, it only jailbreaks it so you can install third party programs. Unlocks for iphone 3Gs are not out yet.

Error 1403 means the file is not there or broken. Try it again and make sure you see the file finish creating. I remember it takes a min or so to create that file. Hope it helps.

This is taken from winpwn's forum, try it out if you are having carrier problems after the jailbreak. Hope this helps.

"Restore your phone back to the standard iPSW

Create your custom pwned iPSW, do NOT select "activate phone" or "Youtube fix" - only select "Install Cydia"

Take out your SIM card (this is important)

Put the phone into DFU mode

pwn as normal

once pwned, unplug iPhone, insert your SIM and plug in again.

Hey I used your tutorial and it worked except now I don't seem to be getting any service on my phone at all. It doesn't register me as being on o2 anywhere on settings and it just says no service... I did uncheck activate iphone so that cant be the problem. I hope this problem fixes itself.. or else i'm gonna freak out if i cant change it back!

freenrich, i am not exactly sure what is causing the problem, it worked on my at&t plan iphone 3g flawlessly. But to change it back to the original, I believe you just plug it into itunes and do a restore to put the the original firmware back in the phone. Hope everything works out for you, let me know. This program only jailbreaks the iphone 3G. It can unlock the 2G only if you check activate iphone icon thing and the unlock box. However, i haven't tested it myself. At this momment, i beleieve the only way to unlock the 3G iphone is through these brazilian guys for a couple hundred. Google them if you are not sure what i am talking about haha.
