I love this movie. I have it on dvd and watch it like 10 times a year.

I love the scenes when he's driving in his car, smoking a sigarette and just chilling.

It seems so relaxing and peaceful, which is kinda weird since he's a fugitive... xD

the other day i was trying to think of that movie where that guy kidnaps that little boy in the casper costume, i remember watching it when i was like 8 or 9 and havint seen it in 16 years..... lol i remembered the trick or treating part . so i goggled it... and found this movie at walmart the next day ..., i must say costner & lowther are both phenomenal  actors together in this film. and eastwood of course.... its my favorite movie of all time now!!!!! 10 stars

Best Kevin Costner performance ever! and one of the best clint eastwood movies, "a perfect world" is so underrated... kevin should have been Oscar nominated for his Butch Haynes's role, in my opinion he was so much better than the 1993 Oscar winner Tom Hanks for "Philadelphia",

As a lifelong fan of his, I would admit that Clint has starred in or directed some duds over his long distinguished career (something I'm sure he'd readily admit to) and of course he's starred in or directed his great, iconic classics - but this movie is a strange one. An absolutely beautiful, affecting film, one of his very best both in story and cinematography and yet, as someone already alluded to, it is hardly known and seldom gets an airing.

One day it will be considered a classic.

Those of you who dumped on Christyavo are the ones who ruined it for people who never saw the film. Lots of books have different endings from the movies...First Blood, all Tom Clancy books (most novels that are made into movies have different endings). Forrest Gump the book is quite different but has even more hilarious funny parts (I laughed out loud way more reading the book). Jurassic Park, Sphere, etc are just a few more examples.

This is ony of the many movies I saw during my childhood that I never knew the titles of. Saw it many times as a kid but It's been so many years since the last time, remember only the last few scenes of it cus it was so dramatic (for me). And this film will be one of my all time favourites..

I miss movies like this, they had a certain upper quality to them. From time to time I'd try to remember more of them so I'm just happy to know the name of this movie. Finally.. Thx for putting this up.

I really underestimated Kevin Costner. He He injected the film with such emotion, how he grows to love Philip and vice-versa. You kind of got the feeling that he really wished he could have been a good guy, demonstrated through his simple yet genuine interaction with Philip. Philip kind of represented that sad little boy who still lived inside Kevin Costner's "Butch".
