Something I find terribly underrated about Kanno's stuff is her use of experimental and electronic elements and effects in traditionally orchestral settings. She's by no means original in that but not many can do it like her.
Also, how she bends genres, but not too far so that they break. You can still point to a track and call it jazz or whatever, but it's only really half of it. (Take "Cream" as hip-hop for example.) And her percussion...!
My inspiration is lasting until I build myself a Gundam. If anyone sees something on the news about a giant robot terrifying New Jersey tonight, that would be me :P
this piece reminds me of something that was written to emphasize the visual content, like the music in Fantasia where they animated their shots first then composed the music.
wow, this was really quite different from her later works, wasn't it? More like one of the bigtime Japanese video game composers. Sorta like Suikoden meets Mechwarrior 2 meets Enigma lol
@SariaChord0TouchWeb Same here macross plus was my first anime...It took along time for me to find another piece of music that inspired me as much....until I heard cowboy bebop and gits:SAC albums.....but she did produce those as well.
Just thought I would add this, the sign you commonly see in astrology as your sign, is your "Sun sign". Where the sun was the day you were born. You have two more "signs", which is Moon and Rising.
THe moon is where the moon was when you were born, and reflects your inner self.
Rising is where the sun rose when you were born, and reflects how others perceive you. Your "outer" character.
Also, not to mention that all 9 (astrology counts pluto) planets have affects on you depending on where they were when you were born, and what "House" they were in. There are 12 houses, each meaning something else. Gah, you guys really should look into astrology to understand this stuff. It's actually rather fascinating.
@Athanedgar what's the physician's number? I think about a million people watching this video incidentally just caught that exact same side effect upon hearing...
WHy are you guys red fingering the person who says "I'm a Gemini and always inspired." Just because someone puts faith in their sign and the working of the universe doesn't make it a bad thing.
And for the record, this song IS inspiring. I could draw to this and drown out the world so I can dedicate time to my projects...
what a track... really shows the versatility and mastery Yoko has over multiple styles, and with every new section I keep thinking "it just got better!" great composer

Mine is:
Sun: Aquarius.
Moon: Taurus.
Rising: Pisces.
Look it up, it might explain a lot about you.

But... to define oneself by astrological signs is kind of... stunting, right? I don't have any of the traits of my sign.

The point is wether the song inspres you into some type of action and wether that action will ultimately lead to a positive or negative impact.
