  • Thank you so much for posting this.....I seen the previous TRBC on Thomas Road probably 30 years ago, but this of course, is something else. For all the criticisms on here, all I have to say is if they are saving souls and growing souls, who cares how much money was spent. Greater minds than mine figured this all out. And Jerry did always recognize God is in control. For those who hate Jesus, I sincerely hope you will find the truth before you die, otherwise you will be haunted forever.

  • Really amazing...an entire institution devoted to total nonsense. Wow. What a waste of time.

  • If you gave Falwell an enema he could be buried in a matchbox.

    -C. Hitchens

  • @lolraptourz I'm glad that nobody at LU or TRBC was insensetive enough to say anything like this when Hitchens passed.

  • @russh31 That's because Hitchens spoke the truth rather than preaching hatred of people he'd never met just to make a quick buck off of gullible religious people.

Except, oh wait, all sorts of fundies said all sorts of insensitive things about him both at death and as he was dying of cancer. So I guess your entire comment is just one big pile of derp.

  • @lolraptourz I can guarantee at least 50% of LU students would say "Hitchens, who's that?"

People come and go. Falwell did, Hitchens did, Dawkins will, Graham will, etc.

  • @cdmcowcam cool story bro

  • Wow, that's a lot of money down the drain!

  • @lulle103 It is a University, the largest Christian University in the nation; fully accredited with a Law School, Seminary, and soon medicine. Was BYU or Notre Dame money down the drain? Besides, was any of it your money?? Just asking. How ignorant!

  • I graduated from Liberty in 1977. All the changes are amazing!! The last time I went to visit was when my son graduated 7 years ago. I didn' know they had all these new ammenities. You did a great job with the video!! I really enjoyed your commentary and filming. Thanks so much for posting!!

  • what bible do these people use?

  • And it looks like a mall, congrats

  • mega bucks

  • mega bucks

  • people of youtube.atheist are attacking christians and even getting each other to report people to liberL YOUTUBE TO SUSPEND ACCOUNTS if they say anything about atheist.meanwhile youtube has allowed attacks on christians.vile things about jerry falwell, even joking about his death, insults.these videos remain today.christians should report these to youtube and demand they be removed, users flaged or suspended for hate speech on comments

  • @namtesyalp

you should try looking up the definition of hate speech before you make a bigger ass out of yourself.

  • I just don't how it all happened, but although my parents had nothing whatever so do with this, I have always totally hated Jesus Christ. Nothing in particular, but there's just something so painfully fradulent and fake about him and his silly stories. This must be something genetic, since no one forced me to think this way, or behave in this manner, but it's just that I find Jesus fucking awful. Everything about him smells rotten. I just hate that fucker. SO BE IT!

  • @rumpwrestler - I hope these words are hollow. Please don't take this in offense. I am a stranger to you, but please hear me out. A hatred of God is out of a rebellious heart. We know that He has called us to Him, but we have to leave what we live. Please, open your heart to His love and see that there are no silly stories or fairytales. Man only says these things to demean the Word of God in a weak attempt to humiliate. If you are doubtful, I encourage you to read one of Lee Strobel's books.

  • @dmarsh434 No silly stories??? There's talking animals in the damned book!

And I encourage you to actually bother to fact check Lee Strobel's books. The man is a shameless conman. Try even a google search.

  • @rumpwrestler Lee Strobel does a exhaustive search in many different questions of the faith.

  • @rumpwrestler Here's the thing, you have no evidence or reason to hate Jesus. He didn't do anything to you. In fact, if you affirm that He was a real person, then you must believe he died for you. If that's the case, then you really should be at His feet right now. No one could've made you think the way you do, but guess what, all humans will detest Christ because of our fallen state. I hope you can see this.

  • If you are a Liberty Student, and love preaching, then you might be interested to know that Paul Washer and HeartCry Missionary Society is coming to a church near you. (Roanoke, VA)

  • That's cool! I was just in VA - 45 miles away from Roanoke. Not there anymore. I'm in NC now.

  • Campus North and the Rink are more for LU students though

  • I really think the money that went to that obnoxiously big picture of Jerry, The Food Court, and THE INDOOR PLAYGROUND, might have done well to go to a charity... But that stuff is really nice too...

  • The same could be said for any amount of money used for anything else, let it go.

  • Nice, almost got accepted into Liberty a few years back(time change woulda been little difficult, still wish I had gone.)

  • The church we are seeking to plant meets in a double-wide trailer. Our best upgrade was fixing the soffit so the pigeons stay out. We still have some 30-year-old lino on the floor. But who cares, as long as Jesus is made known, and the Spirit brings life to the souls that come?! Even TRoad's beauty can't begin to compare to what awaits all believers. What an awesome God we serve.

  • People need to stop hating on all of this. All of the extra stuff is for the UNIVERSITY, not just the church. I live 5 minutes from liberty and havent even taken the time to see some of this stuff. Good video

  • Thanks. People who haven't been there and seen it for themselves don't understand that. And maybe it's my fault for not explaining well enough that the other stuff is for the University? If that's the case, I apologize to everyone - and to the church as well.

  • You do realize that there is a whole University attatched to that church.... you know that LU you kept seeing everywhere which stands for Liberty University which is why there are all those things there...Ice rink, football stadium, fitness center you know the things you find at ANY university ... just saying

  • You're right. I don't understand all the comments people left. They were quite surprising. Spoken out of ignorance.

  • Imagine what Jesus thinks of this?

    This is an ABOMINATION

  • Indeed

  • What is the ABOMINATION is that Falwell used religion to get rich. He wasn't about charity, he was about money and power to satisfy his own insatiable greed.

  • @SidInVa - Do you have anything to back this up at all? You have never been the campus of Thomas Road or LCA or Liberty have you? If you were educated on this you would have somewhat of a valid opinion, but ignorant and untenable comments out of a ingrain hatred for Christianity is imbecilic. The facilitys of the University's are NOT used for the church. The playground and mainstreet offer a place of outreach, where I personally have experienced a opportunity to reach out to others.

  • @SidInVa -Furthermore, Jerry Falwell was not a rich man. He donated his money!! If you ever saw the car he drove, or saw how he lived, you would know he was not in the wrong of greed.

  • @SidInVa Falwell made a lot of money with this university but do you know what happened to his money when he died? He expressed in his will that it was to go to the school to pay off building loans and the like so that other donation money could be used to accommodate for more students. Falwell had money just like any other university chancellor. He is not an abomination for being wealthy because contrary to what seems to be your belief wealth is not a sin.

  • @scweeks2757 Jesus say: "Easier for camel get through eye of needle than rich man go to heaven."

  • Well, if this makes you angry, you would probably been even madder if I showed you Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas. I have a video of that church too, but haven't edited it or uploaded it yet. It really gives a new meaning to "mega-church".

  • WOW. Did you see all the people worshiping and praising God at 3:47 ?

  • I wasn't there during service times. But if I had been, I would have taken video of that too. They were very kind towards me and didn't mind at all that I wanted to take video of the church. Some churches are verrrrrry straaaannnnge about that!

  • This is what chruch has become?! This is a abomanation. Its more like a "christain" amusement park!

  • WOE !!!

  • I would image this would be the first place where Jesus over turns tables when he returns. All I can think about is how many children could be fed, families could be housed and lives could be changed with the money that was wasted on ENTERTAINMENT!

  • " For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? "1 Peter 4:17.

  • "Is it not written, 'MY HOUSE SHALL BE CALLED A HOUSE OF PRAYER FOR ALL THE NATIONS '? But you have made it a ROBBERS' DEN." Mark 11:17

  • You should see Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas. They have two bookstores, a restaurant, a sports facility inside and out....the kids area has video games. They even have an ATM machine IN the church. I guess that's so you can withdraw funds to drop money in the offering baskets. They do have good food, I have to say. I have video of this church too; just haven't put it together to upload it. Tons of celebrities go to that church. Chuck Norris is one of them, & many Dallas Cowboys.
