  • can anyone tell me what grip it is?

  • @lobextomy use ur natural grip for bkhand :) depending on ur strings u have to put more or less power into the shot

  • Why the hell show Djokocic's slice? It sucks.

  • his slice is sorta noobish compared to others

  • yea, really?? Why is he then #4 and u r nobody :P?

  • and why r u picking fights on youtube and not going out and getting laid?

  • Lol, good one!

  • shut the fuck up. you cant call a grandslam winnner 'noobish'

  • no offense, but I do not think Djokovic is a very good example for slice bh...

Of all the 2-handed bh hitters, Murray definitely has one of the best.

Best slices: Santoro, Federer, F. Lopez

  • dude r u stupid tennis is all about technique u have too have good form in order to perform a certain shot

  • dude, if you dont have mental strength how you gonna win, you can be winning 5-0 if you dont have mental strength and your opponent does you gonna loose the match, thats why the top 3 (djokovic, nadal and federer) are who they are cause the have both tecnique and mental stregth, but some have more mental nadal more then federer, federer more the djokovic, i want to think that cause nadal and djokovic have 21 ore 22 years? federer have 27! he's a guy with experience, but still murray win to him!

  • that is the ugliest slice in the world, and only too obvious! and it's not that great either, his other backhand shots are much much better, especially dtl. though he did have a nice slice that wrong footed nadal in the queens club final.

  • i have to agree, it is pretty ugly, and i dont see how he can hit a decent slice with such a crouched stance. Nothing compared to others like gonzalez or fed

  • funny you mentioned that, gonzalez only really started using his slice in his run to the ao final, mostly to keep him mentally from smacking every ball he sees and making errors. his slice is nice but doesn't knife as much as fed's. the only people i've seen who can really knife the slice are federer and murray, and djokovic a few times actually.

  • Tennis its not about technique, its about mentallity, the player who play's most smarter win, see gasquet, his strokes are amazing, to me the player, who plays more beautiful

  • that's nonsense. you don't hit the right shots at the right time without good footwork, movement, etc. and that's all technique. i'm sure you don't know what you're talking about because you mentioned gasquet and mentality in the same comment, when he is the biggest waste of talent i've seen. players half as talented as him have won slams. his beautiful play is limited by a bad serve and a looping, weak forehand. tennis obviously involves both tech and mentality, as well as many other factors.

  • Another exaple, Nadal, he's right hand, and he learn to hit the ball with the left hand, he's just a runner, but still wins to federer, he, has not the best technique, but still he's the number one in the world, cause he have a winner mentallity, technique is not all, federer have an excelent technique but nadal still win to him, and im talking about great technique, not the basic, like footwork and movement

  • nadal has as much technique as mental strength. have you seen his passing shots? he has probably the second best forehand, best on clay, and one of the best backhands, esp crosscourt. you don't hit his angles without a lot of technique. yes, mental strength is important, but it isn't everything. federer will win on fast surfaces 9/10 times because nadal's spin of the forehand goes lower to fed's backhand. and both federer and nadal have "winner mentalities", and i do agree with you to an extent.

  • but all i know is nadal have not better technique then federer, and still he's number 1. nadal have more mentallyty then federer of course! they have both, mental strength and technique, but nadal have more mental strength compare to federer, and federer have best technique compare to nadal, its important have both, but still just one count most, you need mental strength to win the match, without it, is impossible

  • Federer has lost <10 games a year between 2004 and 2007, won about 10 titles a year, 22 finals in a row, 18 consec slam semis, etc. won 13 out of 17 grand slam finals in a very short time period. His mental strength must be off the charts. And for that time period, Nadal obviously can't be said to be as tough mentally on anything other than clay. Now it's different, but it's not just mentally that federer has been shaky, it's also fatigue, illness, and just being unlucky in tight matches..

  • no nadal has really great footwork(but is damaging his body), and nadal is also extremely strong and a really crazy side-spin and top spin, and plus Federer is sick for weeks now and he still didn't recover, is gonna be a battle for the number 1 spot in 2009, well I am hoping for it

  • I agree with you, is going to be a battle for the number 1, but well see the players, and about that, i don think nadal have best technique then federer, im comparing this 2 one have best technique, and the other have best mental strength

  • It would've been better if you could've seen the look on his opponent's face >.>
