Aztecs were pretty awesome! ok so maybe they thought human sacrifices was essential to keep the world going and stuff, but they did have neat things like floating islands, chocolate, wheels on a cart (revolutionary for its time), soap with steam baths, they could smell the spaniards from long distances.

The soundtrack to this movie is just awesome. Especially during the part when the guy threw the rock down into the pit where Jaguar Paw's wife and kid were. This movie is a technical masterpiece and highly underrated.

The swollen bruise around the eye socket is impairing the son's ability to see in that eye, and apparently what it looks like the father is doing is draining the blood out to reduce the swelling. This could supposedly work, but it's risky, incredibly painful, and would only work for a little while, before the cuts clot up, and the swelling starts all over again.
