Andrew does the camera switching from his chair. If he is not IN the chair, he can not switch to another camera. Since he was eating a palm, it was hard to reach the console. Also, all of the cameras in the studio point IN towards the guests, not out into the hallway. Why would there be a camera-- to shoot into a empty hall for a show? It isn't CNN.
