  • It kind of sounds like you're yelling at the mic in this review.

  • If only all american men were like George.

  • I didn't see much of a difference between the directors cut and the original..good review though.

  • I'm being nit-picky I know, but were you really having trouble fitting those photo-scraps together at the end?

  • @Doperwtje81 Yeah, I have a weird brain. I have taken an intelligence test at New Scientist and I am in the top 25% for most things and the bottom 10% for others. My brain just can't do some things. Stupid brain!

  • Nice review.

have you ever thought of doing a review on the Elder scrolls series? or maybe the MGS series?

  • @psfanboy3 I'll keep them in mind next time I feel like doing a really negative review.

  • buy de kebab buy kebab buy kebab kebab kebab kebab

  • Great review.

Do you recommend Broken Sword 2 and 3?

  • @MSMSValve 2, yes, absolutely. It's about as good as 1. Not really 3. 3's alright, but it was made for consoles. They added shitty stealth and platforming, and block-pushing puzzles, but it is alright.

  • @antisocialfatman Thanks. I'll buy them both on Steam this weekend.

  • what do you think of Machinarium?

  • @IustiNN17 Only played the demo but the only thing I liked was the art.

  • @antisocialfatman In my opinion, Machinarium is great once you get into. It's so charming with it's art, characters, and story. I mean, it had a LOT of emotion. Especially considering the characters didn't speak, and the I found myself very attached to even minor characters. I strongly recommend it to any fan of adventure games.

  • This game really inflicts on stereotypes!!!!

  • Have you ever played any of the Tex Murphy games?

  • @xjod9 No.

  • Have you played L.A noire

  • The game is great with the graphics still, and it runs practically the same on an iPod Touch, though like you pointed out that the game is too generous on the hints, when I first played the game at first, I thought of before you posted this video on YouTube was that dumb hint system... Really, how they should've done it at least was if you were stuck you'd have to solve one thing before you would get one of the five hints instead of it all being thrown out at you like it was no tomorrow.

  • The thing is, it's "always" been possible to go online and almost-effortlessly find hints and walkthroughs for adventure games.

But you can't do so without clearly admitting to yourself "this game is getting the better of me", and not wanting to do that helps to buttress your willpower. But this logic is undermined if the game itself encourages you.

There are few more awesome pleasures than finally defeating a viciously obscure puzzle. (I have fond memories of "notpron", for instance.)

  • antisocialfatman, since you done some reviews of remastered older games, how about reviewing an Albion?

  • @Tarhiel Can't afford to buy any new games.

  • broken sword games=epicness

  • 10:41 You appear to have a strong disdain for the hint system antisocialfatman ^_-

  • @PsTwoKnight What on Earth gave you that idea?

Yeah, I will never give a game with this kind of hint system a 5/5, no matter what.

  • @antisocialfatman Hehe, I see what you mean though. With one like this, what's the point of playing the game?

  • Speaking of adventure games, what's your opinion of Grim Fandango?

  • @KajiCarson I'm not fond of it.

  • I was thinking of picking this up for my iPhone. I enjoyed the original, and I figured having a version to play again on the bus would be fun.

  • You should play Kings Quest 5. Your expectations for games like this will dramatically explode like the accordian!

  • I enjoy your reviews, will there be any "mainstream" games reviewed soon? Not that these reviews are bad or make me stop watching!

  • This remake is bad, they removed a lot of background and character animations and added those portraits instead, they removed many clickable hotspots too. The added Layton-like puzzles are crap and makes it obvious this is a Wii port (they were designed to be controlled with a wii-mote). They messed up the great intro of the original game. Play the original in ScummVM instead, this is a butchered version of the game.

  • I love this game, introduced me to this genre of game and it hold a special place along with streets of rage and crash bandicoot.

  • Nice review as usual ASFM. I tried the DS version of this game, it was pretty good to be sure.

  • You buy Kebab?

    You buy Kebab??

    YOU BUY KEBAB???

  • Great review! Have you seen Myst? It's an adventure game too, though more inclined towards puzzle solving. It is known as the first game to feature a full 3D environment and fully rendered animations in real-time. The Masterpiece Edition has hints enabled, making it easier as you mentioned in the review.

  • @MisterAAnderson I'm a big fan of the Myst series.

  • @antisocialfatman Should we expect a review on any game from these series?

  • Was that scene with the french guy supposed to be a good example of the funny humor in the game? If so, not very impressive. :/

  • wow you're really bad at that puzzle at the end lol.. hurt my brain watching you fail so hard... good review, already played this game though

  • The Broken Sword series is available on GOG.com at 50% off. BUY TODAY!

  • gabriel knight, did you playd it?

  • @sebaswildboy Oh man, Gabriel Knight is pretty much the best game in this genre I played...

  • Interesting. Gives me a reason to replay this again.

  • I have never felt sorry that I subscribed to you - and this review confirms that once again.

But to have a dig at the best adventure game of all time, The Longest Journey, because of one or two puzzles, like the rubber ducky one, when overall the puzzles, story, characters and world are so amazing, devalues this review somewhat..

  • 1:00 that's how many tentacle porn hentai begin.

  • @hotlesbianassassin which is why you have that hat :P

  • finally, a new review, keep em up :)

  • @thejakel11225 Finally???

  • @antisocialfatman A week is apparently an eternity for some people.

  • @antisocialfatman I'm sure thejake means that a review once a week from the Fatman is not enough. The week drags on until we finally see a video from antisocialfatman in our subscription box.

  • @thejakel11225 Yeah, I mean, it's been a while, but he's been putting-out new videos a lot lately.
