Texans for Accountable Government has set up a meeting with Rep. Dan Gattis on Oct 23rd to discuss his new law that he got passed that now TAKES YOUR BLOOD WITHOUT WARRANT if you 1. hurt someone in an accident 2. have previous DUI's 3. HAVE A CHILD IN THE CAR 15 or Younger!!! Should be a good event!
Dont get mad just write your council members and tell them this program is simply not acceptable to you. That you will be taking their action on this matter into account when it comes time to decide who to support in the future for their council seat. These people are public servants they just need to be reminded of this fact occassionally.
This is AMERICA!!! And in this country, we don't have to PROVE our INNOCENCE. That's NAZI, FASCIST, CRAP.
The government has the burden to prove you guilty, and until they do, you are regarded as INNOCENT and have HUMAN RIGHTS defined by the BILL OF RIGHTS, which includes the RIGHT not to be stuck with a needle by some NAZI THUG COP because he THINKS you MIGHT be drunk, and are refusing to cooperate, as is another one of your RIGHTS!!!.
How about because we have RIGHTS and don't have to prove anthing?
Don't you get it lady? They say you have the RIGHT to refuse a breathalizer, yet if you do invoke your RIGHTS, then the cops get to stick a needle in you. How is that okay with you? Cops sticking needles in people who want their rights respected. I mean that's SICK!!!
"if your not doing anything wrong then you have nothing to worry about," is the OPPOSITE of the American way. How far are you gonna let these cops go?
For gods sake, its a breath test, what is so hard about that..You take a deep breath and blow out, alot like the hot air coming out of your tubes at the mo.Why would someone refuse the breathtest, unless they are hiding something, come on tell me why, really why, come on FreeinTX, tell me & please give me a real answer, not just Nazi thug cops (cr*p) they are doing there jobs at the end of the day, and I wish them all the best with it...especially if they have to put up with nim wits like you
What on earth is your problem, everyone has a right to what they say and believe me, when you lose someone to a drink driver, you will think differently to the laws. You really are a moody person and at your age you really should be smiling
That's no excuse for destroying our system of government & removing a person's right to not testify against his/herself. Should we start forced confessions for all crimes? Why not just put guns to their heads & make them admit what they did? Why not just extract their thoughts, when the technology becomes available?
Not all laws are holy. You must have an injury to have a crime. You have to prove damage. This is an equity case. But you probably can't comprehend that. Wasn't it illegal to harbor a runaway slave? And those people had the nerve to complain about it! Victimless crimes are not real crimes at all. They are political crimes. I would not care if all you morons, who support unjust laws & have not the slightest clue about American jurisprudence, just died. It's impossible to get through your skulls.
1st, the DA has a 98% conviction rate for DD cases. How is taking people's blood gonna stop drunk driving? How is it gonna keep DD deaths down?
2nd, cops are NOT allowed to punish people on the side of the road for invoking their RIGHTS. Juries determine punishments, NOT cops. This is punishment for refusal, nothing more. And it's cruel and unusual, to boot.
3rd, Everyone must obey the law, even the cops, and the Constitution is law!!!
It isn't so covert.. they are definitely planning on holding on to ALL the DNA. The fusion center is "Arriving" in December.. (Its all ready here-53rd and Lavaca) ..
Your just jealous that I dont need to agree with everyone, I have seen what drink driving does to a family and I say YES to the blood test, and that is if you refuse the breath test, as I keep saying, refuse the breath, your hiding something
@XxShebleepxX Why do all you "freedom proponents" refuse to deal with the FACT that before blood is taken the SUSPECT *must* have *already* REFUSED a breath test.
I've NEVER heard a convincing argument for refusing a breath test. DRUNKS KILL TOO MANY PEOPLE for protesting breath tests to be considered legitimate by anyone who wants to see their family live driving the highways. If one refuses a breath test, I say, either make the law say that's admission of intoxication or test their blood.
What are the "better solutions" and how do you prevent drunks "from getting behind the wheel"?
Frankly, it sounds like utter nonsense. If we knew how to keep drunks from getting behind the wheel, we would have already done so. No one wants the drunks killing people. Your "better solutions," if you actually have them, which I obviously believe you don't or you would have used your time promoting them, seem to be nothing but empty rhetoric.
Prove me wrong and tell us your "better solutions."
@911dispatcher Google "Square Patrol" to see the "better solutions" that would prevent drunks "from getting behind the wheel." TAG actively supports and promotes this "better solution".
@Texans4AcctGovt I did. That's a great program for Austin, but I'm guessing it isn't sufficiently staffed or funded everywhere there are drunk drivers.
I don't think cops should be taking blood but I can't see ONE legitimate reason to refuse a breath test. I don't drink and I'm not sympathetic to drunk drivers. I've seen TOO MANY PEOPLE THEY'VE MURDERED. Perhaps if you spent more time endorsing compulsory breath tests for suspects, I'd be more sympathetic. Death by Drunk is too serious.
I'm torn. It seems extreme to me. But at the same time, if you aren't drinking and driving, then it just seems simple to do the breathalizer and get it over with. I mean when given the choice of breath or blood testing, I'll go with breath thankyouverymuch. I don't like it, but don't drink and drive and you won't have to deal with it.
In a truly free society, a crime has been committed when there is an injured party. Since drinking and driving does not involve an injured party, it is not truly a crime. Drinking and driving is PRE-CRIME, or THOUGHT CRIME.
Once a society establishes that it is okay to create crimes out of thin air, then the door is open to make everything a crime.
I breathe, so that means I have the ability to drink and drive. Breathing must therefore be outlawed.
So is intent to kill you moron. Look at the current laws think people!. Its self defence if you shoot someone who you "think" is endangering your life. If you think being pulled over while being asleep is a thought crime you are truely retarded. Drinking and driving is a crime in itself.
But it's not needed. Breath tests work fine, and the penalty of refusing, the same as blowing hot (in many places). Why have the blood test at all?
Because some people want the state to be able to take blood whenever, for whatever they want. This is an incremental step they hope people will feel comfortable with, and when people acclimate they will take another. Then when scared shitless over some manufactured crisis, they expect you to acquiesce to the rest.
If you have nothing to hide then its okay to allow cops to enter your home to look around and make sure right?
If your not doing anything illegal than it is okay for the government to monitor your phone calls and email right?
The constitution was created and worded the way it was for a reason, a person's body is our most private property and we are protected from illegal search and seizure.
THIS IS OUTFUCKINRAGEOUS!!! If they pass this... I don't even know man. I do know history as this is one thing I've noticed, EVERY tyrannical government has been removed by FORCE and not by persuasion. They will keep pushin and pushin until WE have no choice but to push back. God be with you all, even if you don't believe in one. LONG LIVE LIBERTY!
I'm in Lubbock, Texas and it's a dry city, you have to drive to the "Strip" outside of the city to buy alcohol but we have drunk drivers everywhere every day! I was walking to the Truck Stop down the road to buy some burritos at 4am last saturday and there was about 20 cop cars with their lights on blocking every street and 2 vehicles were smashed with bodies laying in the street with sheets laying over them, Cashiers told me that a drunk driver ran a red light and killed a car load of people.
i like how cops fucking lie on camera all the time it is not legale to take blood only with your permission i wouldnt trust a cop any ways they took my brothers blood after he got in an accident he flipped his truck it was just his car his dumbass was drunk but sense he refused and the cosp did any way he got all charges dropped
I love how she says the name wrong on the bus: BLOOD Alcohol Testing! Instead of Breath! How fitting. What a lame ass reason to give up our liberty: BECAUSE DALLAS AND HOUSTON DID IT! What loser cities..just because they don't have any patriots fighting..doesn't mean AUSTIN IS PAYING ATTENTION AND FIGHTING! Art Acevedo GO HOME! Get this FEDERAL PLAN OUT OF AUSTIN!
I visited Austin for the first time this summer. Forth Street is fucking ridiculous. It's truly Babylon. I have never seen so many bars and so much ridiculousness. It's sick. It really makes me question why that drug is legal... But then I check myself and realize, oh yeah, fuckin' taxes... Like everything else it comes down to fuckin' taxes..
How many trillions does the Federal Government make a year of off alcohol taxes and income tax from bars and restaurants? Not to mention the revenue generated from fines for DUI.
I actually talked to an Austin cop to say what the hell? and he said; "I don't know, my job is just to route the drunk drivers off of the city streets and onto the freeways..."
The muthafuckin' cop actually said that shit to me. He was a sergeant...
I prefer hangin' out at Barton Spring and Zilker park.
Just more NWO BS - if they try to take my blood without permission I'll be taking some of theirs as well!

If you get caught breaking the law, you should pay for it.
