  • "That's not the ending. That's the ending that people were stuck with."

  • Poor Audrey.

  • How’s Annie? hahaha. HOW'S ANNIE?!!1/1/1/ HAHAHAHAHA. HOW'S ANNIE

  • pierwszy raz widziałam ten film (spod stołu) jak miałam jakies 8-9 lat, bałam się okrutnie. Teraz mam 30 l i jak nadal sie boję, To jedyny film, który wywołuje u mnie takie emocje. Gratulacje Panie Lynch ;))))

  • One of the greatest roles in film and television, I compare Kyle MacLachlan's character Agent Cooper to a lot of things. Not least of all Detective William Murdoch in the TV series (Yannick Bisson.)

It's awesome that BOB was originally a crew member who accidentally ended up in a shot!! He was hunched down hiding at the end of a bed, and the effect was so unsettling that Lynch & his gang wrote it into the story line.

  • This was and still is the saddest thing I ever saw on TV

  • Audrey's dead and Coop is inhabited by BOB? wtf no

  • Most frustrating ending ever. I really wish the show had been renewed for another season.

  • Annie just shit her pants

  • I hate this ending. I keep thinking that someday I'll get to see what happens next to coop and Ben Horne. But I won't. I can understand how some people might think this is a great ending, but I think it's like a depressing punchline to a series that shouldn't have been canceled. I liked Coop so much, and I'll never have closure.

  • @Biopharmer Are you f****** me?! This is the most PERFECT ENDING EVER! I want answers as much as anyone, but this is the sort of bittersweet ending that'll keep you remembering this show till you die.

  • Annie, are you okay... cha-mone hee hee!

  • oh coop.

  • she's fine... I hope you will be too :(

  • the secret to coops evil is in the raising of his eyebrows before he laughs, hmmmm

  • coop is my hero , poor guy

  • I remember watching this on BBC 2 when it aired in the UK. Apart from all the Black Lodge scene's before hand and this I went what the hell just happened on this show? Years latyer I rewatched the whole of Twin Peaks. A chilling end to a great story. I'd love to see a follow up, but sadly it won't happen. Probably for the best as it won't be able to match up in quality to the original.

  • I remember seeing this and being so f*cking pissed off that I would never see what happened next (at this point the movie was only a pipe dream). I was mad at ABC, but also mad at Lynch and Frost for not giving closure.

They should never, *ever* attempt a sequel or reboot. Just leave it as is. A brilliant but flawed show.

  • FUCKING BRILLIANT WAY TO END! "how's Annie?"

  • This Cooper is the evil double that he encounters in the Black Lodge. When he's running through the lodge to get out, whilst being chased by the evil Cooper, you see that before Cooper reappears on the other side that the two have a struggle. If this is combined by the scene in the movie where Annie says "the good Dale is in the Black Lodge and cannot leave" it is pretty obvious that it was the evil Cooper that escaped the Black Lodge while good Cooper is forced to remain there.

  • What a way to end a show.

  • so did cooper kill & rape his girlfriend "annie" afterwords?

  • @MrXbrianx hopefully yes

  • @MrXbrianx No, geez.

  • - in the future. She says to Laura, 'The good Dale is in the Lodge. Write it in your diary.' And I know that Laura wrote that down, in a little side space in her diary. Now, if Twin Peaks, the series, had continued, someone may've found that. It's like someone in 1920 saying, 'Lee Harvey Oswald', or something, and then later you sort of see it all. I had hopes of something coming out of that, and I liked the idea of the story going back and forth in time"

  • David Lynch on time in Twin Peaks: "I've got to say this one thing about that scene - where Annie suddenly appears in Laura's bed. This is before Laura has been murdered, and before Coop has come to Twin Peaks. Annie appears, filled with blood, and wearing the exact same dress that she's wearing when she was in the The Red Room with Cooper in the series

  • Great, great ending of brilliant series. After Six Feet Under, and Sopranos my favourite finale.

  • According to David Lynch, the 3th season was about cooper commiting crimes (commited by bob) and trying to solve them.

  • According to Butterchips92, vunzigetovenaar shouldn't talk about shit he doesn't understand. David Lynch never said anything of the sort, get your facts straight before you poison youtube and more importantly, Twin Peaks fans with this bullshit theory.

  • ...gone fishin'...

  • All answers as to the fate of cooper can be found in the movie Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me. It is a bit complex but basically the good cooper is in the lodge. There he helps Laura Palmer before he helps him at the beginning of the series. The key to understanding everything is that time is not linear in the lodge, but cyclical. This is not a spoiler alert to the movie because there is a lot to it...

  • I'd have to watch it again. I didn't pick that up when I saw FWWM. Thanks

  • I don't think there is anything to suggest that time is cyclical in the Lodges. Non-linear, certainly.

  • That is Cooper's doppelganger. Bob is using it in this dimension.

  • It's not Coop's doppelganger. It's Coop, possessed by BOB. The doppelganger--or dweller on the threshold--exists only in the lodge. Coop confronted his and failed, and BOB took possession of him.

  • no its coopers doppelganger, dont you remember in FWWM when annie says: the good dale is in the lodge and he cant get out.

  • Wrong! Cooper's soul in in the Black Lodge, but his body is not. In Twin Peaks, dwellers on the threshold have white eyes. Cooper, unlike Leland, lost his soul in the Black Lodge. BOB was able to leave the Lodge in his body. He doesn't have to come and go as with Leland. How you can look at this and not see that Bob is looking back at himself in the mirror is beyond me.

  • oh fine.

  • wouldn't you think the look of disdain on coopers face before he smashes his head into the mirror indicates that he knows bob is in his body? unlike leland, who says, "and when he was gone, i didn't know", i think cooper knows, but yeah like you said the good cooper is in the lodge. but that whole thing that happened with him in pittsburgh, annie, caroline, is really debatable.

  • I think the look of disdain is BOB's disdain for Coop. I don't think that Coop is in Coop's body at all. Leland was merely possessed from time to time, but most of the time he was Leland. On the other hand BOB took Coop's body in the Lodge. He probably didn't have to leave it at all.

Although, I'm sure that had the show continued, they would have compromised and had Coop sometimes in control of his body.

  • does anyone have the knowledge to explain wtf happened in the end. what happened to cooper? I´ve watched the series few times now and still can´t figure it out, he just lost it?

  • I originally tought that he was replaced in a lodge with that "evil twin". But, in the other hand, he might simply have been possessed by Bob, as seen in mirror image.

Going insane is the third good explanation. But getting tired of the same tooth paste brand might be a bit far-fetched :)

  • I'm pretty sure he was possessed by Bob. That's why his reflection changed to Bob's. Remember Leland? Cooper (Bob in Cooper's body, to be more accurate) would likely go on to kill Annie and the cycle would continue. It seemed pretty clear to me, maybe I'm missing something?

  • This is not the real Dale Cooper. This is his Doppelgager that we saw in the black lodge. Dale is forever lost in the black lodge.

  • Bob entered him!

  • One of the best endings in tv series. What do you want, a great wedding episode? :)

  • I mean wrote it

  • it's terrible when person that you like, admire and belive in, changes and becomes evil;(

  • Coop didn't change and become evil.

Coop was in the Black Lodge.

That's BOB in front of the mirror.

  • @Fushia1992

I think it was the evil Cooper from the Black Lodge whereas the good Cooper didn´t manage to get out of the Black Lodge.

I´ll always adore this fascinating series.

  • i love this part

  • I so dissapoinitng of end like this!:(

  • powers of the black lodge plus the intellect of cooper

  • :,((

  • This is so awesome ! And no, they shouldn't have kept making new episodes, cause the last few episodes was bullshit, so much stuff that happens, that we're not interested in. Anyways awesome end scene.

  • I was so pissed that this had to be the series ending. DAMN YOU ABC for ending it on such a cliff-hanger!!!

  • O.K. Can someone please explain me why there was no third season?

  • Good question! I don't think this was meant to be the last episode... It was probably a cliff-hanger to keep up the tension until the third season.. which never came.

  • I think it's better off this way

  • I know i'manswering this 7 months after you read it but David Lynch never wanted even a 2nd season, the point of Twin Peaks was to leave you annoyed with all the questions about who the murder really was, so it ending this way was a compromise between Lynch and the other producers.
