my surgeon did the same thing with shakes he said i could only have the ones he created and sold online and they also cost $250 it sucked but i did it good luck

Great update, and congratulations on your date! All of the things you have to do/go through are normal procedure. Almost everyone has to do the pre-surgery liquid diet. However, I'd check to see if it's mandatory that you pay for the shakes they suggested. I used the pre-made EAS Carb Advantage shakes that come in a 4 pack for $5.96 at Walmart. That's about $42 ish dollars a week as opposed to the $250.00 you mentioned - YIKES! Anyhow, best wishes to you! :)
