My mother was an anarchist. She cut my father's penis off while he was sleeping, a few hours after he was caught cheating. For years I was thinking this was wrong. But after a lifetime watching fraud, misery and loss happen to me and many of my friends, I'm beginning to think that mom was right. When people start to fear committing crime, there will be much less of it.
Anarchy isn't impossible, but would only be successful and peaceful if everyone took full responsibility for both themselves and for everyone else - mutual aid.
The problem is that if you removed a central government it'd just be replaced by protection rackets, which would then grow into more governments. There are a lot of evil people in the world, and people want protection from them, which is where protection rackets come in. You then have people paying a local group for armed protection. These armed protectors make the rules and shoot those who disobey them. How is this different from a government?
I'm not for fairness. I'm for freedom. When you aim for "fairness" you end up with a middle man determining whats fair which defeats the purpose completely. A society that aims for equality before individual liberty will end up with neither. Complete freedom allows to to live how you wish and taking the power away from the government to distribute special treatment in the form of a flat tax and term limits will regulate much better in the form of market forces.
@Megatrousers That's why there is value in a centralized government. The first priority of our central government is protect us from foreign institutions that threaten our liberty and a judicial system to protect us from domestic institutions that threaten our liberty. I think the point of this video is that exactly. With the exception of judicial system and an armed forces individual people making decisions for their better interest is much more efficient than central power using mob rule.
If you want the mafia to kill Iraqis they'd charge less than a million dollars a hit, and they'd generally get the Iraqis who actually blow things up.

Guys, if everyone would just educate themselves even a little bit about philosophy and morality there would be no need for some arbitrary state to set arbitrary laws to enforce arbitrary morals based on a really shitty philosophy book from two thousand years ago.
You just have to take a look at Mexico. Look at what the Cartel / Mafia have done there. Anybody who agreess with this silly woman need to live in Mexico or go and ask the famillies of innocents that have been murdered by the Cartel / Mafia in Mexico. I personally hate goverments but to say that the Mafia would be better is completely ignorant and full of shit. Two wrongs dont make a right !
Mafia doesnt offer free healthcare, education, renewable energy, aid to natural disaster, infrastructure, and so on. But they will break your legs with baseball bats if you fail to repay a loan. Instead of just going into bankruptcy.....
An-archy only means no-government. Something horrible is running the whirled. It would definitely be much better with out government. Govern-mente means mind-control. Cancel your tv subscription. You will feel so-o much better after awhile. TV has put the whirled in a trance. Hypnosis ona global scale
Black economy, tax evasion, arms trade, drug trade, extortion, racket, violence, prostitution, sex slavery, constructions without planning, transformation of the cost in a mass of cement, zoomafia, arsonism, deforestation, the poisoning of the land and of the sea with ships full of toxic and radioactive waste and animal neglect in the name of charities! Sounds better or just the same. Oh yeah!
@DOHC2L You are correct that morality does stand on its own - outside of any system. That being said - the use of threats and violence to force people to do things is immoral. It is immoral when the mafia does it and when the government does it. I believe the point of the speech was to show how violent and terrible the government is by comparing them to the most obvious violent and terrible organization. It's a tongue in cheek speech. Peace is the way. :)

@LibertyByExample "the use of threats and violence to force people to do things is immoral."
Do you see laws as violent or the threat of violence? I don't. In fact, law is not violence nor is it the threat of violence. Being arrested or being issued a citation are not violent acts but they are forceful acts, but they are not violent. Law does not advocate violence. Police use physical force only to suppress violence; And arrestment/citation are NON-violent means to enforcement of LAW.
@DOHC2L "Police use physical force only to suppress violence;"
If this was true I would SUPPORT ALL THE POLICE. Sadly, police use violence against peaceful people every day. Just do a search on youtube for evidence. Police enforce statutes, not law. Statutes are just some words a criminal wrote down. Ignore the costume. If I treated police the way they treat others I would end up dead. Treat others the way you want to be treated. (golden rule) :)
@LibertyByExample "If this was true I would SUPPORT ALL THE POLICE."
You are misunderstanding the context of my comments. I was speaking from a normative position (how things ought to be). You are contrasting the ideals of what I wrote about to the real world which isn't ideal. But that doesn't mean we cannot have ideals just because the world isn't ideal.
Of course there are bad cops out there, but I would argue those bad cops are breaking the law when they abuse their authority....!
@DOHC2L I reread your comments. I believe that people should not be forced to pay for the actions of others in which they disagree. The current system I live under takes my money without my consent and gives it to people I don't want to support. I want YOU to be free to have the system you want as long as I am able to say "no thanks." Under the current system I am forced to pay for violence against people I love. I can not say "no thanks." I am willing to let others be free. :)
@LibertyByExample "I believe that people should not be forced to pay for the actions of others in which they disagree."
I agree. So let us argue how the law ought to be, not against the concept of law because it's misused. See, the anarchists say that because the law doesn't function as it ought to they advocate anarchy (absence of law) instead of arguing how law ought to be (which can either be a liberal or a conservative perspective). So we don't disagree, we just differ in perspective.
@DOHC2L "You misunderstand the context... I was speaking from a normative position (how things ought to be)."
Unless and until those presumed "good cops" you postulate exist actually duly enforce the law and begin the process of holding those "bad cops" accountable for their crimes... there is no point in arguing how the law should be.
The world is not only less than ideal, but this one example shows that such selective enforcement of law makes any "rule of law" moot, and quite irrelevant.
@DOHC2L Voila, there you have it, "How things ought to be". If it isn't thus, how can one defend what is if it isn't what it is ought to be?
You can have your ideals, sure. But I'd rather see you pursue those ideals through action and self-improvement rather than trying to fix what's broken or being completely passive about it. You're being passive.
If the bad cops break the law and nothing is done about it, then this means that the law only exists for citizens and we might aswell not have any
@LibertyByExample Cops are gangsters, and so are soldiers. By definition. There would be no military or police in a libertarian society - there might be security, but like the term 'union' military and police carry with them a built-in meaning of compulsion and criminal behavior.
@DOHC2L As long as laws are only aimed at protecting life, liberty, and property which we are all equal under. Not if laws are going to try and make everyone equal economically or in other elements of life, such as socialliy (affirmative action). Anarchism is just the absence of government, and the evolution of human history is starting to move more and more towards that. I believe one day we will be able to have private police, courts, and military units
@DOHC2L Since government issued laws are inherently legitimate, then I suppose those passed by the Third Reich were legitimate. Or is it just YOUR governments laws that are correct? If so, perhaps you could explain why YOU get to decide which governments write just laws, and which ones don't.
@DOHC2L The law that you are referring to is statutory law. Under our system, it is illegal to smoke marijuana. If I do smoke marijuana, I will be threatened with violence. There you go, this is Exhibit A. There are many instances of the police enforcing an aggressive statute (such as taxation, regulation, etc.).
@DOHC2L Says who? Government is devoid of morality. Do you know what Anarchy means? It is the opposite of Archy. Therefore, because there is no archy of elites telling you what to do you have no morality? You get morality from personal beliefs. Government is secular therefore what is morality? Dropping bombs on innocents? Forcing involuntary transactions. Looks like you don't even know what morality is? Fucking retard.
@DOHC2L Try not to pay taxes. See how friendly your government will be then.
You don't see violence very often from government only because its more cost-effective to use minimal force to get desired effect. Once minimal force is not enough, well... we can see from some violence to ultra-violence. Just to get desired effect.
Does that mean that government is so much better to teach about morality than your father and mother? They are not your government agents, you know >.>
@DOHC2L "Anarchy is devoid of morality. To argue the morality of anarchy is to make an absurd argument."
Let me put it another way: Anarchy is devoid of morality because all morality is up to individuals. No ~system~ can instill morality in people. Arguing anarchy as a moral political philosophy takes for granted that individuals are the choosers of moral choice in the world.
I'm NOT saying we need government to be moral people... I'm saying without the rule of law there can be no property.
@DOHC2L Not an anarchist myself, more so a libertarian, but why is anarchy not legitimate? And how so is it not based on morality? As I see it, it is the moral thing to do by not interfering or imposing your ideals on others. To live and let live. A state will always impose the ideals of its rulers on the rest, a state does not live and let live. Seeing things based on morality a state could never be moral.
@AlexDerossard "but why is anarchy not legitimate? And how so is it not based on morality?"
Anarchy is not a moral or political philosophy. Anarchy means absence of law. Anarchy will ultimately lead to chaos, as there is no law. A moral society requires the rule of law because human beings are fallible and not everyone acts morally at all times.
"As I see it, it is the moral thing to do by not interfering or imposing your ideals on others."
@AlexDerossard "A state will always impose the ideals of its rulers on the rest, a state does not live and let live. Seeing things based on morality a state could never be moral."
No, laws are not ideals. Laws are necessary and objective; ideals are subjective. What you said here is wrong because laws are necessary but the state is not the moral authority of it's people: If it were we wouldn't be citizens we would be subjects of the state. Morality is separate from the necessity of law.
Shows your credibility doesn't it, it's a video of an old lady telling 10 reasons why mafia is better than the state... and you comment... that she has an ugly sweater..
Shame on you, you lie spitter, may you burn in heeellll for all eternityy!
It was a funny speech, which gives you great points to the table if someone says "hurr durr, anarchy would mean the mafia controlling things I bet".
It's more than obvious that if you want to be forcefully in control of people and their resources you're a certain type of crazy person (or veeeeerrrrryyyy childish).
@SlipAllCityToy You have something against old ladies?? You'll get there one day. You should be polite when talking about old people. We the old people don't insult youth. Don't forget that the older you get the better you get! You are fucken borderline! Go see your doctor and ask him to check your head that is if you have one!! From a 59 years old chick that still has all her brain and looks!! So STFU!!
@SlipAllCityToy You called her ugly. You are making remarks on her looks, her face. Why don't you go back to watching Beyonce or Rihannananananana!!!! You think you'll be pretty when your 60? hahaha! But you should check my channel. My ugly face is on it!
honor ??? are you fuckin kidding me have you seen any mob movies all those big mooks gte shot in the back even by their own brethren. I wouldnt want fat tony to blatantly extort me im fine in paying taxes :P. But in all honesty mob rules is no way to run commerce and education and health when you have greedy guido's at the top anyways!!
I'm sure that the people from the III'rd World ghettos just love it that the state doesn't protect them, while at the same time being able to to use those "high quality products" the Mafia provides. Senile old hag.
@Dudedubba Have you ever talked to a person who was hooked on drugs that was forced into the State's dungeon? Not too much better. in fact it may be worse because your held captive along side with the people who were doing horrible things on the outside and drugs are even easier to get a hold of.
@Dudedubba its the legality of drugs that causes that violence you are speaking of. . . if it werent illegal than people wouldnt have to go through gangs to get it - the gangs would have less income and less controll. violent drug dealers are the result of the drug war.
@MsSarahJ56 Here is ilegal, but it has nothing to do with drug dealers. All mafias are worse than state, because in the state at least you have a minor influence.
@SpiritofGodstudy888 So you're against the state sending people to prison for commiting victimless crimes but you support some non-existent God sending people to hell to burn in hell forever and ever for being sceptical of his existence?
You should apply your belief in libertarianism to religion :)
@DoctorCapitalist My friend, The God of this universe does not take pleasure of the destruction of the wicked. He is a loving creator in which He sent His son (Jesus) in the greatest act of love and sacrifice to die for us, so that we may get to know Him. He is alive and among us. Hell is created for those who choose their own way and reject God's free gift of salvation and a personal relationship with the Creator. Religion is created by man. Who are you going to put your trust in?
why dont you make a reverse list. i bet thats better. first of all, try getting legal aid when you owe a mobster money. that wont work. also, if they were in charge then its an empire and we all know how that would end. if the mob was in charge then you could wave goodbye to demoracy. get real grandma. thats the dumbest speech ive ever heard

Does that mean that government is so much better to teach about morality than your father and mother? They are not your government agents, you know >.>
albert6014 2 months ago
@albert6014 "Does that mean that government is so much better to teach about morality than your father and mother?"
No, Government is NOT our moral authority, but government is necessary to ~secure~ our rights. Morality is up to individuals!
I've been hosed with NAIVE comments inferring I believe in totalitarianism because I don't believe anarchy is a legitimate philosophy.
I believe in LIBERTY, ~LIMITED~ Government, Property Rights, and FREE MARKETS. I DON'T believe in Socialism nor Anarchy!
DOHC2L 2 months ago
@DOHC2L "Anarchy is devoid of morality. To argue the morality of anarchy is to make an absurd argument."
Let me put it another way: Anarchy is devoid of morality because all morality is up to individuals. No ~system~ can instill morality in people. Arguing anarchy as a moral political philosophy takes for granted that individuals are the choosers of moral choice in the world.
I'm NOT saying we need government to be moral people... I'm saying without the rule of law there can be no property.
DOHC2L 2 months ago
Hypothetical reasons why the mafia would be better than the state does not equate to reasons why anarchy is or is not legitimate.
That said, anarchy is NOT legitimate. You anarchists who try to turn it into a moral philosophy are fucked in the head!
DOHC2L 3 months ago

That's Liberty, not Anarchy. Don't equate them!

No, laws are not ideals. Laws are necessary and objective; ideals are subjective. What you said here is wrong because laws are necessary but the state is not the moral authority of it's people: If it were we wouldn't be citizens we would be subjects of the state. Morality is separate from the necessity of law.

UGLY SWEATER

@smujismuj
Shows your credibility doesn't it, it's a video of an old lady telling 10 reasons why mafia is better than the state... and you comment... that she has an ugly sweater..
That is borderline retarded.

@SlipAllCityToy
Apparently your sense of humor is different than mine.
Mea culpa.
Seriously, concerning Granny Smurf's rant:
I'd rather not be dominated by government nor thugs, thank you very much.
We don't need leaders, we need fair, common sense guidelines for human interaction, and some kind of system for keeping it sane and uncorrupted.
Easier said than done, but as long as we're ranting about which tyrants are better than the other, I don't foresee much progress being made.

@smujismuj
You're telling me mafia is immoral?
Shame on you, you lie spitter, may you burn in heeellll for all eternityy!
It was a funny speech, which gives you great points to the table if someone says "hurr durr, anarchy would mean the mafia controlling things I bet".
It's more than obvious that if you want to be forcefully in control of people and their resources you're a certain type of crazy person (or veeeeerrrrryyyy childish).

What the?
I'm sorry but.. but..
You're just trolling right?
If you're trolling then I'll admit, your troll was 5/5 and I totally went for it.
But just in case you're for real here (20%) this is what smujsmuj said "p.s ugly sweater"
My comment was a reply to smujsmuj...
You seriously think that I think that old people are borderline retarded?
I don't understand you what so ever :D

@SlipAllCityToy You called her ugly. You are making remarks on her looks, her face. Why don't you go back to watching Beyonce or Rihannananananana!!!! You think you'll be pretty when your 60? hahaha! But you should check my channel. My ugly face is on it!
DesertRose0829 3 months ago
@DesertRose0829
No.
I never called her ugly.
You're mixing my comments with "smujismuj".
You should carefully look at the comments and see which ones are mine, and what comments am I replying to.
Not once did I have a remark on her looks.
I don't do that kind of stuff, in fact I think Emily looks healthy and she has done a great job on keeping her looks. :)

@DesertRose0829
And I hope I will be rocking that good looks when I'm 60, so I don't get your implies what so ever.
And the only place I can see your face in your profile is your profile pic, and you look great :)
Just take a chill pill ;)

One more thing...why should we take advice from Gramma smurf?
smujismuj 3 months ago
Mafias also shake people down for protection and then beat anyone who resists.
It's interesting that business interests condemn government as inevitably corrupt, and then do everything in their power to corrupt it.
smujismuj 3 months ago
there's a joke about this: while one mafia boss serves 2 consecutive sentences in prison, the other mafia boss serves 2 terms in the white house.

honor ??? are you fuckin kidding me have you seen any mob movies all those big mooks gte shot in the back even by their own brethren.

I do take this as jest. I mean, the mafia are proto-states. To the extent that they're better, it's just that they're less powerful.

Bullshit... I live in Rio, I see people saying to me horrible things that the drug dealers do to the people that live in the slums.
Dudedubba 3 months ago
@Dudedubba Have you ever talked to a person who was hooked on drugs that was forced into the State's dungeon? Not too much better. in fact it may be worse because your held captive along side with the people who were doing horrible things on the outside and drugs are even easier to get a hold of.
yinzjagoffs 3 months ago
@Dudedubba its the legality of drugs that causes that violence you are speaking of. . . if it werent illegal than people wouldnt have to go through gangs to get it - the gangs would have less income and less controll. violent drug dealers are the result of the drug war.
MsSarahJ56 3 months ago
@MsSarahJ56 Here is ilegal, but it has nothing to do with drug dealers. All mafias are worse than state, because in the state at least you have a minor influence.

@SpiritofGodstudy888 So you're against the state sending people to prison for commiting victimless crimes but you support some non-existent God sending people to hell to burn in hell forever and ever for being sceptical of his existence?
You should apply your belief in libertarianism to religion :)
DoctorCapitalist 3 months ago
@DoctorCapitalist My friend, The God of this universe does not take pleasure of the destruction of the wicked. He is a loving creator in which He sent His son (Jesus) in the greatest act of love and sacrifice to die for us, so that we may get to know Him. He is alive and among us. Hell is created for those who choose their own way and reject God's free gift of salvation and a personal relationship with the Creator. Religion is created by man. Who are you going to put your trust in?
