haha it definitely is not, he's said specifically in interviews that it's dancer, it was inspired by a hunter S thompson quote about how our society is turning into "dancers". It's singular because he is equating "dancer" with "human", i.e., it's a species. You don't say "are we humans?", the singular form can apply to everyone. So, again, by make "dancer" singular to he is equating the two. About club culture, I believe.
