  • Wow, wow, wow! Thanks!

  • @downeastrailfan Haha thanks!

  • Has anybody heard how 460 is doing

  • @srr7312&Strasburg1991 its a rumor that the company is making plans to work on 972 to repair it to UNOPERABLE CONDITION by 2015 and put into the museum.

  • @PRR460 Ah ok, didn't know that. I've seen that same boiler on wheels sit outside the shops since I first went to Strasburg, so it's awesome that they are finally deciding to do something with it (provided that the rumor is in fact true, of course).

  • Do not type code! It is fake

  • how are the restorations going along??

  • @Strasburg1991 Everything seems to be going good from what I've been able to see. I think they still have some trackage left to replace in Leaman Place then they should be finished.

  • @srr7312 i was talkinig about strasburg 31, cp 972 and src camelback 4

  • @Strasburg1991 Oh sorry I wasn't sure what you were talking about. 31 is slated to be out by the time Strasburg re-opens Presidents Day Weekend, 972 is on hold for the time being due to the many projects they have, and the same goes for the 4.

  • @Strasburg1991 I've heard that 7312 should be up and running in febuary and 972 is close to getting touched

  • @PRR460 so 972 is being restored operationally after 7312 is finished

  • @PRR460 Is the 972 really going to get worked on? Who told you this?

  • Wonderful coverage!!!

  • @dwkcamman611 Thanks!

  • @ConnecticutProd 1-Dave was on the throttle that day. 2-Yes Andy still operates all of the locomotives, not all the time but often. 3-Only for a certain amount of time will the trains be going slow over the new bridge, this is to let the ballast settle in.

  • @ConnecticutProd Yep =) He was the engineer for my train in June.

  • @ConnecticutProd Because Strasburg had to cancel the event due to the replacement of their old bridge.

  • Excellent video, I was here a week before you! Almost identical conditions! That new bridge looks fantastic!

  • The paint is starting to fade on the coaches :(

  • i dont think so all i remember is shouting out that and 90 was late for the grade crossing i mean for blowing the whistle she started blowing on the road bell too

  • @zdrewbie Ah ok, I might have been out of range to hear that then.

  • I miss 7312. Give 90 a break, and let the first steam engine on the Strasburg Railroad take the spotlight. Any news as to 7312's restoration?

  • @BNSF5000 The date has been constantly pushed back because of how busy the shop is with all their other projects. I'd guess she definitely won't be out this year, maybe by the beginning of next year.

  • @srr7312 Did she usually pull the trains on opening day when she was out??

  • @trainfann1 A lot of times she did, yes, but I don't think they really have any traditions. It's whoever is available, really. But I have a feeling she may be ready for President's Day Weekend so they would definitely want to get her running off the bat.

  • @srr7312 What does a rebuild include??

  • @trainfann1 They basically examine every single part to make sure everything's good with it. Since it's the 1472 rebuild everything has to be perfect so it passes the FRA inspection.

  • @srr7312 Did it have its FRA inspection yet??

  • @trainfann1 No clue.

  • @srr7312 From what I heard, it is no longer 7312, now back to 31, and she'll be pulling the opening day train, and the winter trains, as long as there is no snow, or tons of cars required. (That may not be true, I'm still getting all the facts).

  • @cvspad Interesting, when you say winter trains would you be talking about this winter too or is she still getting worked on?

  • Comment removed

  • @srr7312 They saying winter 2011/2012, EARLY! So I'm guessing no later then early March 2012.

  • @cvspad Ah ok, sounds cool! I'm going to Strasburg to shoot some winter photos next week so I was thinking maybe she would be out by then lol! I think I can handle dealing with #90 though ;) . Thanks for the info!

  • Stellar video!

  • @bigjim4life Thanks!

  • Very cool to see 89 and 90 both arriving at Groff's Grove at the exact same time.

  • GREAT VIDEO oh and does strasburg do freight? whats with the tank cars n stuff...

  • @shininghappyperson7 Thanks! Yes Strasburg does freight revenue service, they take in freight cars from the interchange at Leaman Place (cars are brought in by NS) and Strasburg unloads them.

  • @srr7312 ohhh i never knew that, so they must have some sort of diesel locomotive, like an S-1 or something like that,i might have seen it before, thanks for the info :)

  • @shininghappyperson7 They have an ex-NYC SW8 that does their freight movements.

  • @shininghappyperson7 Type in Strasburg #90 freight and you will see #90 and the diesel working together to move a long freight on the SRR.

  • @PereMarquette1223 wow that was pretty cool,to see one of those locomotives actually working pretty hard was awesome!!!!

  • did you hear some one yell thanks at paradise lane in a jeep......that was me and my brother in law

  • @zdrewbie I don't recall, is it somewhere in this video?

  • Great video, thanks.

    John

  • @johnskelson Thanks John!

  • Very nice video!

  • @KyleVideoDesigns Thanks!

  • fantastic video! Thanks for sharing!

  • @jlebaron1 Thanks! Your welcome!

  • Great video again!

  • @CSX6000 Thanks!

  • Fantastic work! I've never seen them use a caboose on their trains before.

  • @GenesisSanctuary Mainly they are only on the day out with thomas trains.

  • @GenesisSanctuary Thanks! They haven't been using the caboose a lot this year but they have used it a lot in the past for their half hour trains.

  • Great video! There are a lot of videos of Strasburg out there but you pull it off well. This is one of the best I've seen. The moving camerawork really makes it. What kind of tripod head do you use?

  • @21stCenturyLtd Thanks man I appreciate it! I have two different tripods, one being a Manfrotto Model 785B (I typically use this for Class 1 railfanning) and the one I used for this video is a Manfrotto Model 3433, you can search those up on google to see what they look like. The 3433 has an extremely smooth head (not sure of the technical term for it) so I like to use it for when I'm railfanning Strasburg.

  • @srr7312 To add on to what I said there I just found out that the 3433 uses a fluid head.

  • Awesome!

  • @csxketh1 Thanks Alex!

  • Excellent video!

  • Was 89 running late at 9:40 ish

  • @modeltrainman12345 I love it when they run late, it looks more realistic.

  • @cvspad So do I was just wondering/pointing it out

  • @modeltrainman12345 Slightly, because of Strasburg's new bridge all of the trains that go over it have to go slow so that the ballast can settle.
